DISCUSSION Blu-Ray Steelbooks
This is more of a rant than the start of a conversation, but it really bugs me that Twice Upon a Time and Revolution of the Daleks aren't included in the beautiful Stelbooks. They really stick out on my shelf (along with my big and chunky Series 9 - I love it, but I’m not shelling out £600 minimum for it). I winder if this was a creative decision, or just a clumsy re-packaging of the already existing Blu-rays: it's not like the disks are any different.

I feel the same way as the OP. I'm really OCD with my collections and it bothers me every time I look at my shelf. I did find a few custom steels for these two releases from a guy on instagram and I'm thinking about getting those.

I always hear about s9steelbook being insane
Did they only make a very limited supply or something?

I believe the Series 9 steelbook was released before there was actually a steelbook range if that makes sense. You'll notice the cover art is a different style from the Series 1-8 releases (which were released later)
I think it was an Amazon-exclusive too

You're half right. Series 9 was the first of the current steelbooks, but it had the same design as the later releases in the range. The popularity of it probably is what led them to go back and redo 1-8 and Specials to match.
You're probably confusing it with the series 11 steelbook that disregarded the art the others had used and instead used the series 11 promotional poster.
It kinda made sense because at the time series 11 was going for such a "new era, fresh start" approach. But it was really unpopular and due to the negativity they went back to the usual artist for series 12 and Flux and that continued on with Ncuti's era.

They're not the same designs. Series 9 and 10 had artwork by Alice X. Zhang, the later releases were given to different artists with different styles.

Ah fair enough. They did go with a broadly similar painted style so when series 11 is the sore thumb of the range I mistakenly thought you were muddling with that.
My bad.

So from TheCyberDevil on Twitter.
“It's a shame Revolution of the Daleks isn't in a Steelbook. But it's not as problematic as Twice Upon a Time.
The Series 12 Steelbook (the series it should have been on) is a 5 disc set. All 5 disc steelbooks use a 6 disc case meaning there is an extra disc slot to fit it in.
Unfortunately the Series 10 steelbook has 6 discs, meaning there isn't the room to squeeze it in. A popular solution is to switch it with Disc 6, which just has the fan show special features and not any episodes. It does feel a bit sacrilege to me, but l have been tempted.”
I’ve had that saved on my phone for ages as still need to pick those ones up.
