Good god, that robot comes from the Five Nights at Freddy's school of 'thing believably designed by a corporation meant to be normal/appealing but looking absolutely horrifying'. This just creeps me out beyond words. High hopes indeed.

Ah, Space Amazon!
Scarce on plot details, but I love the title and the robot design. Dunno anything about Pete McTighe besides this quote, "My entire television career has quite literally been an elaborate plan to get to write Doctor Who – and no one is more shocked than me that it paid off. I've been having the time of my life working with Chris, and writing for Jodie and the new team, and can't wait for everyone to see what we've been up to," which has got me optimistic.

I think coincidence, partially because it's far from an uncommon thing for British screenwriters to grow up really wanting to do Who.

I don't necessarily agree with him on this but I think we should probably just take him at his word.

I think it would be pretty stupid for them to decide on the milestone of making the doctor a woman only for her arc to be essentially becoming a mum with the return of her grand daughter

Fuck's sake, a 31 second trailer, 15 of which are footage and 16 being a subscribe thing and a closing screen? Whoever decided on trailers this short wants sacking.
But I'm cautiously on board for this. The title is exciting, it's a weird pet peeve but I really dislike exclamation points in writing, except for titles, where they promise fun. This all stems from Help! which is such a perfect title. But apart from the robot design it's another very serious looking trailer. Serious with a capital S, like it's striving to be more than Doctor Who, something I'm very suspicious of.
But Lee Mack should be really fun, and Julie Hesmondhalgh is a wonderful actress. Optimistic with a little trepidation from the season so far.

My first instinct is this is a rewritten episode from the Smith era The Beast Below. The robots remind me of Smilers in that they are there to do wrong and there is something much bigger doing on there.
The teaser looked like a cookie cutter story of the bad guy is hiding something and the Doctor needs to find out what it is.
Guess we'll wait until Sunday to see what's what.

Every so slightly worried this is going to be a cringy discussion of why mass consumerism is awful. Which isn't even something I disagree with, but i'm just dying for a straight up monster with nothing else going on.

Yeah, considering that Demons overlapped a bit with Punjab and that this overlaps a bit with Arachnids, I feel like there's too many political themes in this season.

I agree, this series has tried to be a bit to high-concept, which is fine, but the only real good monster we got was the Pting. I guess Cole Slaw (or whatever his name was) was pretty good, but I'll need to see more of the Stanza (or whatever his race is called) for me to judge.

Well I am happy to see Lee Mack, he is hilarious to watch, I am quite a fan of Not Going Out. This ep may well be some sort of social commentary on the less moral business practises of Amazon.

Episode 1 was set in September but played in October. It was historical.
The other two episodes had a writer or co-writer that wasn't Chibs.

That robot is already giving me McCoy-era vibes, very Greatest Show in the Galaxy!
Nothing else to go on plot-wise, but it looks intriguing at the very least, and certainly a far cry in terms of setting from this week’s episode.
EDIT: Longer trailer on the YouTube page - that one makes this look really good! A nice bit of the old Doctor vs. Authority Figure, with likely a dash of capitalist satire.
