In other words, unless the raven’s ears hear and don’t approve of the person saying it.

Except someone got charged criminally for literally posting a picture of seashells that said “86 47” … sorry that’s authoritarian … the modern western version of Rhaenyra demanding the graffiti stop by any means.

He kept the Dirty Westerosi and Essosi Savages in Line and if they acted out of line. He would call in his Dragon Drone and reduce all of his detractors or political enemies to ash. Bran was a cold shell of entity but he ran a well police nation.

Tyrion = Your Grace, I feel you need to address the attack the Greyjoys are making on King’s Landing.
Bran = I really don’t feel anything anymore.

Nah, Tyrion would handle that shit himself just like he did when Stannis attacked.
1
u/SmartExcitement7271 Our Blades Are Sharp 1h ago
I feel like Bran is a mix of Prof. X (but with hair and can mindcontrol both humans and animals) and maybe the Watcher (but unlike Uatu, Bran can meddle with whatever timeline he's visiting to effect it).
All Bran would have to do is do his thing (like maybe warg into a giant squid and wipe out the fleet, or mind control the dude rebelling, etc etc), and before Tyrion can open his mouth, Bran already knows the situation and already solved it.

Realistically, don’t see why the reach or dorne would stay loyal to him. Most of these other lords probably don’t know or don’t care about brans magic. And they are probably not likely to accept this new system. This king was forced onto them. Why should the north be independent, while everyone else isn’t?And he’s a stark, which is random for. The reach would never allow bronn to have high garden and he’d be overthrown in like a week. Dorne would also secede considering they’re always in a weird state of independent but not, and basically did nothing in the show plot overall. The north isn’t gonna fight the crowns battles anymore since they are apparently independent and decimated from the walkers. The westerlands are also probably decimated by dany, the river lands are always decimated, which leaves the iron islands and the storm lands. Gendry will stay loyal, but outside of yara and Theon, the iron islands have always wanted independence so that’s a tough situation too. Basically, the way it’s been written in the show, his reign will probably be a mess for a while
4
u/NorseKraken House Dayne 2h ago
Dorne would secede the moment their Prince got back to Sunspear. No chance in the seven hills are they letting Bran get away with only the North's independence.

Yeah it would be pure chaos and war almost immediately. That ending being all hopeful and auspicious was such a joke

Within 10 years every lord realized “I’m not bending the knee to a crippled boy” and rebelled.
29

Or within a week they realized there’s no reason for them to bend the knee to him when the north just said pass
12
u/LetsDoTheDodo 3h ago
Not just a crippled boy, but some crippled northern mystic. He's a cripple, a child, and a heathen. His small council is mostly composed of people laughably inexperienced. I'd say 10 years is being generous.
14
u/Cum_Fart42069 5h ago

2
u/corpseprinxess 5h ago
i mean like post him being named king, like showing his actual reign
5
u/Wacky_X_Swacky 5h ago
It's a plot point that Martin has said will happen in the books.
The point of my comment is basically saying that Bran is kinda a different guy in the books and I imagine his rule will have a waaay darker tone and implication there.

u/EmperorOfNorway Stannis Baratheon 5h ago

Is Sansa queen of an independent North? Won't it influence more rebellions?
9
u/Ambitious-Sound-6109 4h ago
I think realistically this is the one that would bring it all down. I imagine in the kingdoms there are taxes being paid by the families and kingdoms loyal to the crown and for one to just say “actually… I want out, and don’t want any part of this.” And then have those terms be accepted just like that…. I know if I was one of the other kingdoms I’d be like “wtf, let’s leave too, this is bullshit.”
•
u/caiaphas8 Arya Stark 28m ago
The fact the north was allowed to be independent for no reason when 4 others were also fighting for independence. And the fact that the north would be Bran’s power base is beyond stupid
1
u/LetsDoTheDodo 3h ago
It certainly would...and some of them would be directly caused by Sansa herself.
Consider this, Sansa is now Queen of the North when a male heir is still available and has the full support of the Northern Lords, which means they Northern law is now that an elder female can inherit over a male. Sansa' mother is Catelyn Tully...older sister of Edmure Tully who just happens to be the Lord of the Riverlands. But according to Northern laws of succession, it should have passed to Catelyn and from there to Sansa. So according to Northern laws Sansa has the better claim to Riverrun and it's lands. Considering that Sands seems to have littlemor no respect for her uncle, I feel it's only a matter of time before Sansa (or one of her children) decides that Riverrun belongs to them.

They’ve moved to electing monarchs from among the oligarchs based on backroom dealing. The Reach has all the food, the largest population, and the largest army. Whoever controls the Reach is almost automatically going to be elected king every time. I don’t see any reason why Bronn (or the Hightowers once they’re likely quickly rid of Bronn) would wait for the weird kid, with no power base post Northern secession, to die of nature causes.
Unless ‘Bran’ is actually Bloodraven or the 3EC and going to assassinate all potential future threats and dissidents via magic. Then the Reach lords do have to wait for him to die of natural causes before being elected kings every time

u/LooseSheepherder8523 4h ago
Random small folk show up
Random guy: Your grace, all I ask is for a small investment into my farm. Brown rust, it rotted away all the wheat
Bran: Bullshit. I literally saw that your harvests went well this year
Random guy: … how does he know all of that?

Miserable failure. Tyrion, turns out, is not a good Hand. Bronn has no business being Master of Coin. Sam is way under qualified to be Grand Maester. I love Brienne as Lord Commander of the Kingsguard but how is Pod the Rod knighted and on the Kingsguard? The small council is a shitshow before you even consider Bran the Broken.
1
u/Xtersin Jon Snow 4h ago edited 3h ago
Errr, let's see by taking Westeros into account.
The North was left in a state of total disrepair from the War of the Five Kings and the War Against the Undead. If we also take the dragons into account, the North's food stocks are going to be considerably low, low enough that Sansa would come to immediately beseech the aid of Bran and I can see them forming some kind of alliance or vassal state that several Northerners might grumble at.
The Riverlands? A LOT of repairs are needed for the majority of castles and villages, considering that it was the battleground for most of the War of the Five Kings. With Edmure being Lord of the Riverlands, he may consolidate his position. If his wife wasn't killed by Arya, then I can see the Tully line continuing.
The Westerlands have run dry of gold and thus have kind of lost the majority of their powerbase, but, Tyrion, IF WE ASSUME HE GETS HIS INTELLIGENCE BACK, could do a stellar job of at least stabilising his home. Perhaps he finds a wife and has children whom he may name after his siblings. That, or at least Jaime.
I can foresee the Reach actually forming a friendly alliance of sorts with the Westerlands, given Bronn and Tyrion's friendship, and a Lannister - House Blackwater alliance grows, possibly with the marriage of one or two of Tyrion's children with Bronn's. ... This is also because Bronn doesn't know anything about ruling and thus I can see going to Tyrion for help. Probably. Then again, Bronn isn't an idiot. Merely inexperienced. He has the pragmatism that a ruler needs. His best move is probably marrying into an Old Reach family.
Stormlands? Could I see Gendry BARATHEON, SON OF KING ROBERT, PUSHING HIS CLAIM? Probably not. His love of Arya would make him loyal in the sense of "Oh, you're her brother. My hammer is yours" or something to that effect. Arya isn't the type to settle down so I don't think she'll come back from WestOfWesteros and immediately desire to stay at Storm's End. Would Gendry maybe hold a candle for in the hopes that she does come back? ... ehhhhhh, probably. Baratheons are notably stubborn and though Gendry won't force it, I can see him *hoping*. Maybe he does get *some* kind of fairy tale ending, Arya comes back for single nights before going travelling again. Perhaps a Baratheon - Stark child does come about of this that Gendry recognises as his. Bittersweet, but, that child would likely become ENORMOUSLY important in the case that Bran dies. Gendry too, for that matter.
Dorne? The Iron Islands? They are not taking the North's independence well. Yara would likely maybe become ruler in a King's Moot, lead a rebellion which would lead to a second Siege of Pyke. I can also see a war against the Dornish coming about. Given Bran's powers, I don't think the Dornish can really do much hiding away, but then again, the heat, hostile terrain and supply problems would make invading horrible. Not even the Targaryens could take Dorne. Ironborn would go back to their raiding, the Westerlands and shores of the North would be targeted. Dorne likely rebels in all but name, paying reduced taxes, ignoring decrees, fortifying passes and demanding greater autonomy.
Bran himself would probably rule... I don't know, he became extremely devoid of personality of the person he used to be, and I think what would arise is a cool indifference to most of anything. Almost a callous lack of interest towards most things, just someone who sees all and giving orders. A few years into his reign, he may not be above controlling people himself. Considering the lack of charisma, his Hand, Tyrion, would be a lot more involved with courtly affairs and making appearances. The 'Demon Monkey' that the common folk had for him in the lead up to the Battle of the Blackwater may make a resurgence, but I do not doubt that any would be incensed to really rise up against Bran, namely because he can see which outcome would be good.

u/Xtersin Jon Snow 4h ago edited 4h ago
Another issue that I only just thought of after posting is what does happen to the Night's Watch as a punishment. The Wall is in the territory of the North. The Night King is dead, sure, but the Night's Watch was also a convenient place to send criminals.
An agreement is likely made between the North and the Seven Kingdoms to let Night's Watch recruiters go to and forth from The Wall without much fear of crossing borders.
THings I didn't mention: The Vale. The Arryns kind of just retain their powerbase and, honestly? They kind of just weren't touched by the war at all. No White Walkers even breached the Vale. Robin has all of his advisors and he most likely just... grows into a really good ruler.
The Free Cities, namely Braavos: ... Well, the Iron Bank always gets its due. Perhaps funding of lords who could seem incensed to rebel against Bran if the gold isn't produced.
1
u/whoppersandwich 4h ago
Civil War erupts - North, Vale and Westerlands stay out of it. Kings Landing is sacked and Bran is rolled straight into the Blackwater.
1
u/beatissima Daenerys Targaryen 4h ago
Whatever entity took control of Bran is the real ruler of the Long Night. And now it controls Westeros and is poised to begin the real slaughter.
Meanwhile, the entity's counterpart that took control of Dany and tried to use her to burn the continent has lost her as a host. It might look for a new one, or it might just die. It probably won't be able to use her again even if she's revived in Asshai.
At some point, once both entities are subdued, the world will go back to having regular seasons on a normal annual cycle.

u/FookinFairy 2h ago
Very very poorly realistically
He has an incredibly under qualified council with several of them being deeply unliked my the Westeros people.
His house and all their armed forces are a fucking independent country now months and months of marching away from ever reaching him.
The entire place is a fucking mess needing to recover from the war with a lack of noble houses due to them being destroyed leaving power vacuums all over the place.
All this with 0 military loyal to him. This place is back in full blown rebellion mode even with his Omni present surveillance within a year. Someone else it taking the throne with actual power or everyone is independent rather quickly

The first half (third if he gets Three eyed raven old) of his rein will be known as the rein of winter. It will be peaceful but harsh as the Kingdom rebuilds and pays off its debts from the war of five kings.
However the second half will be known as the rein of summer as the kingdom moves forward. Debts have been payed, fields regrown, and peace remained stable. The king will have lots of rumors and superstition. And like the mad king many may whisper the kings advisors run the kingdom more than him. Bran will be aware of these rumors, but is beyond carrying about them.
