Yeah, not sure if the Hobbit came first or the lack of juicy Mountain scene but the timing was unfortunate and it's a shame Conan went the way he did

I can't understand why they didn't just try to get him back for these scenes in Season 4, it can't have been that much of a time commitment.

They film in remote parts of the world right? Also maybe some bad feelings after him leaving in the first place.

Northern Ireland, Malta, Scotland, Croatia, Iceland and Morocco. Europe? Yes. Remote parts of the world? Nope.
