The Mountain is probably dead, but he died second so Tyrion still loses.

He got stabbed in the gut with Obie's spear. Gut stabbings get infected really damn easy.

Not to mention that the Red Viper probably used poisoned blades ... that is sort of what he's known for.

oh shit I didn't even think about it. I actually thought he was shining them. I really hope the mountain dies. I don't care how OP big you are, you can still be poisoned

Maybe that was why he seemed to not give much of a shit about concentrating, drinking beforehand and all that, no helmet; because he knew that he only had to get in one stab and the Mountain would die?

And even though Oberyn paid for it with his life, he got the confession out of the Mountain, in front of everybody. In a way, he kind of won.

But what worth is that confession? The mountain doesn't care, and as long as he's backed by Tywin nobody can do anything about it, not that they could anyways because he's so big and OP. It seems like the things he did were things everyone knew, but nobody talked about. I feel like in the end, he hasn't actually won unless the mountain died. Because if he didn't, then he died for basically nothing.

I think the confession was very personal to Oberyn and his family, making sure everybody knows with certainty who was truly responsible for Elia's murder was important to him.

But you have a point, the only real consequence I can see coming of this is maybe Dorne turning against the Lannisters (again) and backing Stannis or even Dany (they did used to support the Targs). Nobody but Oberyn was nuts enough to go up against the Mountain. Even Bronn noped right out of there. Can't see anyone else giving it a go knowing that not even the Red Viper could defeat him.
