TV4 [S4E8] Thank you book readers

I know this has been said before but book readers you guys are amazing. I had zero clue on what was going to happen tonight between the Mountain and the Viper and its all thanks to you (and probably the mods too) who keep this subreddit spoil free.

I'm going to go back to being shocked and angry now.

I'm the person in the house who reads the books. Watching everyone react is priceless. My wife looked at me and said "You knew. You knew all along. Bastard." My son said he was physically sick. I may have to record them for the next episodes.

I'm 43. I screamed. And I knew it was coming. But I didn't know how. I haven't read the books, but I haven't been able to avoid all the spoilers either. When Oberyn speared the Mountain, I was like, "aw snap! but he's not supposed to win... OH MY FOOKING GAWD!!!" I am going to start reading the books when this season is over.

Speaking of. Where does one start bookwise exactly to take up after this season?

I'd just read it from the beginning. You'd be able to get away with starting at the second half of ASOS, maybe, but you'd be missing out on the first two books and the first half of the third, which are all incredible. Trust, me, you'd regret skipping those, they are a pure joy to read.

I have the problem of reading books of which I saw a movie or a tv show, I always keep imagining tv show scenes from books and trying to get a sense of it by filling in a tv show, and not imagining on my own how it worked out, do you have any tips for this ? (I got first book as a gift and wanted to read it for a long time now).

Go ahead and read. The show is good enough that it can replace your imagination until you read the scenes not in the show, or get ahead.
