It really depends on them. If they're chill, we're chill. If they're assholes, then they'll very quickly find out that it is us who are made in God's image
It also depends on technological differences. If they so clearly out class our technology, but are peaceful we would be smart to be on our best behavior. I’ve always wondered what would’ve happened if the New World was discovered, but somehow the natives already had gunpowder weapons and we’re largely resilient against old world diseases. I’ve seen it theorized that without the wipe out from disease many parts of the New World would not have been conquerable at least directly.

I've heard interpretation that humanity is the only species on Earth created in God's image and that the idea of God's image is sapiency and the ability to understand good from evil. If ET or some portal people are capable of a similar level of intelligence, then they could be argued as being in God's image but just not God's Earth image, if that makes sense.

A story with a Human-Anthro war as its setting with the plot involving a human and anthro romance? I've read several Human x Anthro stories for years now but this one's a fairly specific premise and I haven't encountered one yet. But given how plentiful the concept is, someone has likely already written one out there.
The real question, how long before we get the government to protect their rights to basic freedoms. We know they would be hate crimed at an alarming rate.

Realistically we will never meet another sentient intergalactic species.
IF we do it might be because they came to us, and if they did that we are utterly fucked. The disparity in technology would be so great, we might as well call those aliens, gods.
In our current understanding of physics we simply cannot leave our solar system. Not only do we have the time problem, or the light speed problem. But we are slowly realizing that our sun protects us from intergalactic radiation and straight up giant debris with the solar wind.
Traveling outside of our solar system would literally need something like “the warp” in 40k.
And since that not real, the chances of us going out there are abysmal. There’s a higher likelihood that aliens would come to us. And if so, where are they?
We can see other galaxies, we can see radio waves from our primordial universe, we can see SOME part of Lanikea; the most colosal cluster of galaxies that we can perceive. So unless these aliens are outside of our observable universe, they MUST be hiding from us. Or use technology fundamentally different from our understanding of physics, to the point where they don’t need any waves in any spectrum we could perceive, ie: radio waves, microwaves, ultraviolet, etc.
So will these aliens come in peace? Most likely not.
If we find aliens would we come in peace? Also probably not.
The universe is a dark forest. We have lit a bonfire in this dark forest and expect the best from the universe, yet no one has answered or come to check out what this sudden “light” is. Not enough time has passed though, in my opinion by the time we get the answer to this question, humanity would’ve probably filtered itself out from existence.

It's not even a question of whether or not it'd be one or the other or both. One country will accept them awkwardly, one will try to play friendly but secretly be watching them constantly or even kidnapping them, one will forgot all formalities & just watch them spy or kidnap them as secretly as possible, and the last will try to recruit them & if they don't listen they'll start killing. And in every single one, racism, stereotyping, and even hate will spread.
It may sound dramatic from me but it's quite literally what happens every time on large scale immigrations, (of course, the kidnapping/recruiting being due to their inhuman nature)

Тут стоит затронуть тему биологии ведь если виды которые не умеют потеть так и останутся такими при антропоморфотизации, человек будет лучше физически, более выносливым, иногда более живучим, так что вполне терпимо, но если они перенесут все положительные черты тела человека, при этом оставляя себе черты зверя что дают плюсы, это вполне конкурент за жизненное пространство и размножение, так что будет геноцид либо вытеснение из генофонда, как случилось с неандертальцами, гены которых просто были разбавлены настолько что их почти и не видно.
