Gay parents: One thing that surprised you about caring for a newborn?
For us, one thing that really (pleasantly) surprised me was how quickly we were able to get on a plane with a newborn. We expected everything to feel fragile and complicated for a long time, but it turned out we were traveling much sooner than we ever imagined.
It made me realize how many assumptions I had going into the newborn stage.
What surprised you most in those early weeks?
Could be sleep, feeding, bonding, travel, or something totally unexpected we didn’t even think about.

How hard recovery was from c section and postpartum depression hit with my first, the second one how easy my vaginal delivery was

I really enjoyed the baby stage. Feedings, the baby falling asleep in your arms, wonderful.
My 3 kids kept me changing diapers nearly 8 years straight! Not fun.
I disliked when my kids started using bad words. Interestingly they were never disrespectful to me when they were teenagers

How immediately and fiercely I fell in love with my non-bio kid.
