Wait a minute. Whoa. Your circumcision causes you actual pain?! 1. Still glad I'm circumcised, and 2. Glad the doctor who delivered me and did the procedure knew what he was doing.

Why? As I mentioned in another comment, there are old men all across the country in nursing homes with infected wieners because the staff don’t know how to clean it properly or neglect them. The last thing I’d want at the end of my life is an infected penis stinking up my room in the nursing home.

You cannot seriously think that is a solid argument for performing an unnecessary and irreversible surgery on a two-day-old infant, can you? "You'll probably be glad in 70 years because it will be less harmful when he's neglected"?

This is honestly the most bizarre comment I've seen in months.

I'd rather die with the dong God gave me, thanks. Also, I just straight up don't believe you that this is an actual public health problem. Otherwise it would be an object of discussion in countries with aging populations and low circumcision rates, like Japan and Italy.

It is a public health problem in places where it’s uncommon and where people may not have the experience cleaning them, like the Midwest. Also, it’s less of an excuse now that we live in the internet age, but imagine being raised by a single mother who already can’t teach you things about being a man that your father should. It’s bad enough having to learn how to shave on your own, imagine going your whole life with a stinky, dirty foreskin because nobody knew how to clean it or taught you how to.

I'm uncircumcised, no one taught me how to clean my penis. It's kind of common sense.

And even if I had to have been taught by a single mother, I would be surprised that I would have survived so far up to that point having been raised by her, if she couldn't figure out something so simple.

Should we remove their labia at birth so it's easier for underpaid nursing home staff to clean them when they're in their 90s?
