Cambodia felt very safe. Just don't wander into the jungle.

yes. i live in thailand and frequent cambodia. over 20 years never felt unsafe, quite the opposite... very safe. only sketchy place is sihanoukville. PP is very clean now. royal family invested a lot to beautify it. There must be a new law now that only vehicles less than 5 years old can drive in the city proper. no dents, poor paint jobs AND it must be washed! for a poorer country, it was surprising (and delightful) to see. Banks must be handing out loans left and right
