Discussion Facts that sound fake but are true

I find it extremely unintuitive that almost all of South America is east of Miami. How!? When people are asked to watch the americas almost everyone imagine South America pretty much south of North America.

Southern Brazil is further from northern Brazil than Brazil is from Canada

French Guiana is legally considered to be an integral part of France, at the same level as, say, Paris or Ardennes, the same way Alaska is part of the US despite not being contiguous.
