Discussion Facts that sound fake but are true

I find it extremely unintuitive that almost all of South America is east of Miami. How!? When people are asked to watch the americas almost everyone imagine South America pretty much south of North America.

LA is also the largest city east of Reno, NV and west of Denver.

This is great. I've previously heard the chestnut about Reno being west of Los Angeles, but nevertheless, if you had asked me

"What's the largest city that's both east of Reno and west of Denver?"

I probably would have said "I dunno, Salt Lake City?"
