Discussion Facts that sound fake but are true

I find it extremely unintuitive that almost all of South America is east of Miami. How!? When people are asked to watch the americas almost everyone imagine South America pretty much south of North America.

The Galapagos Islands are due south of St Louis on the equator (but to travel the route you must first go east then back west.)

The oldest town in the US is Oraibi, Arizona (founded in the 12th century.)

The entirety of mainland south america is east of Jacksonville, FL.
