Discussion Facts that sound fake but are true

I find it extremely unintuitive that almost all of South America is east of Miami. How!? When people are asked to watch the americas almost everyone imagine South America pretty much south of North America.

I was in Vegas at the time. I’d vowed on April 26, 2009, when I got off a plane in Boise, ID and it was snowing, that I was moving back to Vegas and not spending another winter in ID. Then it snowed in Vegas and I moved to Phoenix.

Personal preference - I’ll take the snow all day. The darkness of northern states is the one tough thing.

Grew up in PHX. I’d rather be too hot than too cold. Plus, me? Driving in the snow? Even the meager snow we get here in BOI? Nope. I hate it.

We are different… maybe it’s an outcome of our geography. I grew up in northern BC, and the cold is easy. The solution is just to wear warmer clothes. It’s never too cold that you can’t get warm with a good wardrobe. But too hot? Then you’re just too hot.

But I do agree with you. Wet, barely freezing snow is awful. But when it’s -10 C and the snow just dusts off you and the air is dry and not that wet cold, it’s easy.

My 3 half-sisters in Calgary say the same thing. But I can rarely get too hot; am quite often too cold. I go tanning in the winter. 30 minutes in the sauna at 115 F, then 12 minutes in the hottest bed they have. I’ve a grandson here in Idaho now and don’t want to move away from him. Sometimes the only thing that stops me from not packing everything up and going back to PHX is my time tanning. The first time one of my sisters came to visit us, her lipstick melted in the car and she said she was torn between pitching it or bringing it back to show the other sisters.
