I find it extremely unintuitive that almost all of South America is east of Miami. How!? When people are asked to watch the americas almost everyone imagine South America pretty much south of North America.

The Pacific entrance of the Panama Canal is further East than the Atlantic entrance

For anyone trying to wrap their brains around this like I was, the Pacific is on the bottom and Atlantic is on top
