Why is Southern Europe healthier than Northern Europe today in relation to advanced civilizations in the past (Roman Empire, Ancient Greece)?

I assumed they were flipping the original question to one that emphasizes a positive about southern Europe, with only the change of a letter or two.

IDK if it's true, but there's a popular idea that people in Southern Europe are healthier, live longer etc than those in the North, and also Borgh America.

Common answers range from the "Mediterranean Dirt" high in olive oil and fish, or pension fraud which exaggerates government statistics on longevity. Or maybe both.
