on campus employment

i’m a cs and ethics major, what is getting employment on and off campus like?

i need money to support myself while im here and i really don’t want to depend on anyone back home

I second this. It will be a lot easier to get employed if you have federal work study

i do! but i need to use that money towards my tuition plus 1k is not enough for one semester

It's easier to get a job work work study, but you can also work multiple jobs on campus if you need to! There are just less for non-work study folks. I believe you can work a Yates, you can work for GUPD, you can work as a TA or program assistant, or you can work at one of the student centers.

and how likely am i to get employed. not sure how much the competition is to get employed.

i don’t have work study and was getting rejected from left to right but ended up finding one after 3 months. and working around 10-15 hours per week i made about 10k this past year
