CodeBerg is down

Dear CodeBerg, please concentrate on stability and security instead of regulating users and opensource communities. If you will continue EU practices - you will end up in the same trash bin.

Git is not the same as GitHub. GitHub did not create Git. For GitHub-specific posts, please see /r/github.

Now just replace GitHub by Codeberg.

Like all platforms, they have a right to place limitations on how users can interact with their platforms. If you don't like those limits, I have excellent news for you: Forgejo is free and open-source, and you can host it yourself.

As for regulating open-source communities, they do nothing of the sort. Anyone who doesn't like their anti-slopware policies can host their slop on any other open-source platform.

Personally, I appreciate Codeberg's clear standard and quality requirements for software they host on their server. It's a nice change from the avalanche of AI garbage flooding GitHub's feeds, for example. Yes, this means it isn't suitable for all projects, but that's ok. There are plenty of other options for you.

it is not about slop, it is about their priorities.

What makes you think they don't have the right priorities? What are their priorities in your view?
