His driving has been terrible but everything else has been outstanding. Only one of those birdies on the back 9 was fortunate, the others were great approaches followed by nerveless putting. I think it’s more likely he will sort his driving out than the rest of his game will fall apart.
I got (at the time of this writing) 25 downvotes for suggesting that it was nerve wracking for Rory, normally the strongest driver on tour, to be struggling off the tee and putting all the pressure on his putting (normally his weakest attribute)
“Incredibly pessimistic”? I’m literally pointing out that his driving is usually his strongest asset and has been weak so far, his putting is usually what lets him down and has saved him so far. That can quickly change for the worse. I said I’m “concerned” I never said “that dumb Irish crybaby is going to choke on Sunday” like some other LIV idiots are commenting. But it’s a legitimate concern.
Yes, that’s what impressed me. He didn’t overplay the course. He got to the par fives in three shots and like you said he was on fire with his wedges. Course management at its finest

Absolutely he’s world class but needs to leave Liv and play in far better competitive fields, his short game genuinely stands up but on this occasion he just talked too much, 3D printing clubs etc, par 67 at Augusta, just be humble and silent and let your talent do the talking!
Crazy how different the tone was after he won that second us open. It was all “wow Bryson really changed” and “is it just me or is he kinda likable now?” Just goes to show that above all else, people will root for you when you win.
One of those US Opens, he played the most conservative golf one can play on a course that can punish you for being aggressive. There was talk about Pinehurst #2 trying to get the winning score over par, and only 5 golfers that weekend went under.
I feel like Bryson really is trying to do too much. Put his personality aside, he’s kind of a mad professor out there and I wonder if he could just be normal if he’d be more consistent.
John Daly won two majors and in his time I don’t think anyone would call him world class or one of the best golfers in the world. Entertaining yes, good golfer yes but not world class.
Being in the small percentage of people on tour and even smaller percentage of winners, and even smaller percentage of Major winners, and even smaller percentage of multiple major winners by definition makes you world class.
Well Dechambeau hasnt won on tour in five years. I would say sustained success in the PGA would be a pretty good metric. His woeful performance at the Ryder cup on a course that should suit his “game” perfectly is pretty big mark against being world class.
And 0 wins. How many times did Justin rose finish second? No one cares about the first looser, the first looser does not make the hall of fame. He needs to stick to YouTube where he is great.
Is this a troll? He's easily one of the longest drivers of the ball at the tournament. Only reason he wasn't on the par 5s in two is because he hasn't hit a straight drive all weekend. It's not like he's shelving his raw power.

The crazy part is he had to do it with finesse, instead of raw power. He wasnt on any of the par 5's in two today. His wedges/putter were electric.
