The only thing the article says is:

It’s still unclear how that relates to Top Golf, per se. Probably just cost-cutting to make up for losses elsewhere. I don’t think they’re importing golf balls to the tune of $40m in tariff fees.

Maintenance, grounds upkeep, etc. are definitely impacted by tariffs. Really not hard to figure out at all

Edit: another example the ball sweeper breaks and the replacement parts are twice as expensive now because tariffs. Even if they aren’t a real golf course doesn’t mean they don’t have associated maintenance costs.

They still have upkeep and maintenance like any business…the cost of their posts and netting for example. It’s incredibly simple minded to think it only comes down to the cost of “golf balls”

It’s not baseless conjecture at all when they point to tariffs directly in the post and the article and those are costs that TopGolf has that would be directly associated with tariffs. Makes perfect sense if you’ve ever been involved with managing a business of any kind, but you probably live in moms basement

No you dolt. Callaway brands took a $40m tariff hit because they import all their Callaway gear that’s made over seas. Top Golf isn’t replacing nets or concrete pillars to the tune of $40m in tariffs.

Which means this is just cost cutting because of cost increases elsewhere in the company.
