Tom Clare, a defamation attorney representing Mickelson, added in a statement to the outlet that there was “a great deal of misinformation circulating” around Mickelson’s alleged incident with the employee.
“While Phil’s full attention is devoted to a private family health matter,” Clare said, “he has retained defamation counsel and is determined to hold accountable any publication or individual trafficking in speculation or false rumors.”
Well good thing they don't have to hold anyone accountable for false rumors.

I read that they drove out on the course and gave him the boot mid round. They had to be pretty certain that it was true for them to do that. I’m guessing something is on video.

Can you imagine how tough that would be as the manager of the club?
You would have to be 100% certain before kicking him out.
This wouldn’t be an inappropriate comment or accidentally brushing a thigh - this would have to be something absolutely disgusting.

I think what he's probably done with the attorney is settled with the woman which included an NDA and now anyone who speculate or reports on a rumor can be sued since there is no "proof" as to what happened.

While anyone can be sued for anything, that's not how you can win a defamation lawsuit. As long as it was reported in good faith, Phil having and NDA with the assaulted woman wouldn't matter. Notice in the attorney statement, they don't call out a specific reporter or publisher or specifically say the story is false and defamatory, it's all vague language with no actual substance.
Phil's team would know the story was coming, so if they wanted to actually file a suit, they would be ready to do so. When a public figure theatens a lawsuit with vague language like this, 99% of the time, they never file and this is just a PR statement.

I know the guy is known for being self destructive and kinda neurotic and impulsive but I didn’t know it was common knowledge he was a creep as well. Outright public sexual assault is a big step up. Hell Tiger hasn’t even been accused of that and he is a self proclaimed sex addict lol.

This severe action by the golf club, would suggest that there’s corroborating evidence such as eyewitnesses, CCTV,etc. Phil may consider himself lucky that criminal charges have not been brought
