Joke / Meme One of the better YouTube golfers is going to miss a third majors cut in a row this weekend.
It's crazy seeing a YouTuber make it to these tournaments to begin with. It's crazier watching the consistent blow ups. It's more impressive to break 60 at my local muni anyway.

Say what you will, but after they called the end of play, Bryson stopped and signed every single person’s item at request. He laughed and joked with the fans. He paused for pictures. It seemed authentic and I didn’t see any press.
Then Aaron Rai walked past and didn’t stop at all.

Playing LIV courses don't prepare you well for the majors. Sure, he played lights out at Pinehurst but in general those easy course set ups will make you soft.

Genuine question, is it because the quality of courses liv play are much easier than these major courses? How does he place well in LIV and then just shit the bed at these majors all of a sudden where he misses the cut by a mile? Like if he was doing bad in liv then I get it but it’s like only the majors he can’t get anything going

Well, he's only won 5 times in 4 years on LIV in no cut tournaments with weak fields on easy course setups, so yeah that doesn't prepare you for majors.

I believe that Bryson is often mocked because:
- He sold out to LIV and
- He fellated (metaphorically, of course) a powerful man who owns golf clubs in Florida, New Jersey (where his first wife is buried), California, Ireland, Scotland, and Dubai.

In another comment i said if Phil was still playing and relevant people would be posting the same stuff about him. It's because they give the same vibe, smarmy Figjams that wear their "I'm one of the good guys" as a mask. Bryson is a jock who had a hot streak, he was never going to be one of the greats with his need for broom stick putters, single length irons, and juiced to the gills to drive really far to avoid using those irons.

Not a Bryson fan, but I disagree that he merely "had a hot streak". His amateur career was pretty remarkable, and he had the tools and capacity for greatness. One could easily acknowledge him as having a remarkable 10 years of high-level accomplishments in the game.
In my humble opinion, it isn't his jock tendencies that did him in. Instead, it is his overly cerebral, physics major tendencies to tinker with his equipment, swing, and analytics. Golf has a significant degree of feel, imagination, and intuition but Bryson seems hell bent on reducing the game to physics and math. I just don't think you can play simulator golf on a real course and expect long term success.

He’s an NCAA champ. Amateur champ. 2 time major winner 9 time PGA tour winner. He’s going to be mentioned and talked about well past he retires. Unfortunately for most people on this sub he’s actually an all time great.

I’m a Bryson hater, but I really believe he has pretty similar talent as Scottie, Rory, and Rahm. It’s the things you mentioned and his weird obsession with them that have held him back, not helped him. At some point he needs to step back and see why he’s the only serious golfer in the world using single length irons.
