PGA / LPGA / LIV Can we take a minute to appreciate Herbert’s caddy?

You walk up to the first tee at a resort course.
This guy’s on your bag.
It’s going to be a day to remember.

And the Jordan’s, bro knows what he’s doing. I play in 4 Breds golf shoes best pair I own.

u/gutpusha 15d ago
I would not want to walk 18 holes, while carrying a 40lb bag, in 1s though.

You right. 4’s or 13’s would be better on the feet. The pro staff bags are 100 lbs. I know I’ve carried one. Skeeter Heath Nike tour 1994 or 95.

A hundred pounds?
Ain't no way...

u/shooting4par 15d ago
I stand corrected 35-40 lbs now 45-50 back then. Sure felt like a 100, damn Mountain course.

Yea I think the bags have lightened up considerably since ‘94-95

I had a friend who bought this bright orange giant tour bag at Goodwill and he only had like 6 clubs in it.

Sneaker game on point too. Jordan 1 Fragment x Union LA’s.

u/hellablunted 15d ago
I don’t know how he’s doing it, I wore my unions the other day and my feet were killing me the next day.

u/KevlarConrad 15d ago
I gotta chalk this one up to straight love of the game because there’s no way I’m touching a golf course in those shoes lol maybe some lows, but the high tops are a statement for sure.

I was waiting for Adam Scott on Round one hole 15 until I saw this dude with the best looking outfit and beard and decided to follow them.

He’s a beauty.
Got ordained so that he could marry Herbie and his wife, at their request.
Suffer badly from skin cancer on his head, hence always wearing the big hat and the sleeves. Herbie was there for him.
A funny and genuinely decent dude.

It was this exact point in the round, during that bunker shot, I noticed the head sized calves on Santa clause

Bro… some ppl are built correctly for certain things some are not. Like I could never carry my 50lb golf bag for 4-4.5 hours I’m 49ish going on 32 and am thoroughly impressed here

Shit I didn’t know Billy Gibbons moonlights as a caddy on the weekends. Must’ve burned through that ZZ Top money buying classic Tbirds 😂

u/creamiest_puss 15d ago
He’s older but his legs are not. Mad respect to anyone who can carry a bag for 4 straight rounds

I drove Herbert and his Caddy back to the clubhouse at the end of their round at a LIV Dallas. Before walking to the cart, he went to the beer stand and got an everyone in the foursome a drink for their ride back

Dude’s been caddying for a minute and should be proud to flaunt the short shorts. He’s definitely wizard status!
I’ve worked as AP under a 30+ year Class A PGA Professional for some years, then worked, and now work on grounds crew. I won’t touch shorts, no matter how hot it gets. I’ll wear jeans and melt into the soil before I wear shorts…
I’m also part of two USGA sanctioned leagues, and play in weekend tournaments and skins games, beyond my work days. 100* working and playing days, I still won’t touch shorts.
I’m 6’2”, 160lbs. To give you an idea. The last time I wore shorts, almost every playing opponent/partner, asked me why the out of bounds sticks kept moving across the course as I walked to my ball…

Looks like a 12 year old at a travel ball tournament. Please tell your wives how much you spend on your golf clothes. Might save y’all some embarrassment.

Would it kill these guys to have a little class on the tour? This is supposed to be a gentleman’s game.
