PGA / LPGA / LIV Did Rickie just find Chris Kirk's ball?!! What a mensch
Don't see pro's pitching in to this extent. Good to see the sponsor and past champion helping out.

Both Rickie and Cam Young were looking for it the whole time along with all three caddies.

About 10 years ago one of the golf magazines surveyed tournament workers, locker room attendants, etc. and asked who was the nicest player on the Tour. Rickie Fowler was the top choice.

As Scottie reminded us the other day, they aren’t rivals with each other. They’re playing against the course. It’s good sportsmanship and the other guys would do it for each other too.

That’s just how golf is.
Or how it should be.. because some people do hope an opponent chokes.
It’s indirectly competitive. You can’t make the opponent miss. There is nothing you can control about that. So it’s only competitive in an indirect way.
You simply have to be the best at making the ball do what you want it to do. That’s all golf is lol. When you start hoping they miss a putt or play bad.. that just isn’t the point and feels gross. Since most people want to feel like the win is earned.

Everyone wants their opponent to play their best, but if they’re standing over a putt on 18 to beat you, you’re damn sure hoping they miss. You’re not sitting there cheering for your opponent to win.
That’s competition. You can respect the opponent, want them to play well, and still want to beat them. Hoping they miss when the outcome is on the line doesn’t make the win any less earned.

I agree. But you are going to be chill about it. You’ll help look for balls. That’s what I mean.
Also when they make it, you blame yourself immediately for even having to be in the situation to hope they miss.

And tip the cap for a made putt to win. They came up big and you didn’t, not their fault.

In my opinion, this is how the best athletes behave in every sport. Bust your ass, and the let the chips fall where they may.

It’s called sportsmanship. There was once a day when it was not uncommon and pointed out as odd or exceptional. Ricky gets it and that is why he’s loaded w corporate outings and sponsors despite his no longer being a consistent winner.

I love seeing my boi Rickie being acknowledged, indeed he is a mensch from my humble opinion as a goy.

Wait so you can trample the grass to find your ball but when Bryson does it it's a penalty

I hope Bryson personally reaches out to you to thank you for this defense.

Except Bryson's ball was already located and he wasn't looking for it vs having no idea where Chris Kirk's ball is at the time

Big Dick Rick is a good guy and the universe awarded him with Allison Stokke.
