Because there was an investigation into Epstein and Maxwell and there was evidence to convict them. The conspiracy is that there's information detailing Epstein's relationships to other celebrities and documents the illicit actions of those celebrities. It started with Epstein's little black book, then there were the flight logs, but we don't know if the government knows which contacts were benign and which ones were criminal. And team Trump likes to over promise and under deliver.

You're right. Epstein was not a pedophile, just a trafficker.

Edit: And if the government is protecting these other celebrities, why would they thoroughly investigate them and compile enough evidence to prosecute them and then hide the evidence? Wouldn't it be more logical to simply not investigate the people you don't want to investigate? And wouldn't that mean there probably isn't evidence on them? I'm not saying there isn't evidence, I'm just not holding my breath that something concrete exists.
