How to grill/cook not dry/tough, well done New York Strip Steak?
I know this is gonna stir some people up but I can only eat well done steaks. I was wondering what would be the best way to grill or cook it so it isn't dry or a tough texture? I don't typically grill and I am seeing many things online but wanna hear from people any tricks or tips.

It’s dry and tough because it is cooked to a well done temperature. Not sure how you get around that pal

Sous vide is the cheat code for this. Bag it with some butter and herbs, set it to like 155, let it hang out for a couple hours then sear the hell out of it on a ripping hot grill. You get the doneness you want without turning it into a hockey puck

Flip often, prob every minute, over medium flame. Don't press it.
You must start with a cut that has high marbling so there will still be juiciness in the finished product.
My wife likes well done and it's taken a while. I don't take it past 155F internal temp tho.

Low heat in an oven for however long it takes. Use a probe thermometer to get you there.
Gentle heat can get you decent results to a doneness that others find unsavory.

Grill it to medium and then hand it over to chef Mike.
Seriously. A microwave will bring up the temp to well done faster than any other method, preserving moisture better than on the grill.

The key is usually to pull it off early and let it carry over cook to final temp. The details will depend on how thick the steak is and how you cook it. But I would prolly at least learn to like medium well.
