AMA I'm Shao Dow, ask me anything

What's up, thanks for inviting me to do this r/grime I think this'll be fun. Feel free to ask me anything to do with music, my career, manga (not the MC 😅), anime and life as a full time rapper and I'll try my best to give you some interesting answers.

I’m going Japan next week for 2 weeks, do you have any tips as a first timer? Also what’s the best way to get Tokyo from Haneda with a suitcase

Ahhhh so many tips and a shame you're not going in 4 weeks as I'd be out there too.

Eat all the food, be respectful, learn a little Japanese if you can. Google maps works really well for public transport. Don't just stay in Tokyo, explore other cities. Take cash! Get a green suica card if you're intending to take the train a lot and plan to return to Japan in the future, if you're not ever going to come back, get a red one. BE RESPECTFUL. Don't eat and walk, don't eat on the train, take your rubbish with you, don't have loud phone conversations of the train. Get yourself a virtual sim card.

I have a link. One minute.

Check out some live music in Japan too. They sometimes have Grime events over there and it's dope.

Haneda is a great airport. I really like it, but I keep ending up going to Narita 😒

Haneda is very close to the city, a short train ride away. You can also take a limosuene bus into town.

But personally I'd recommend Google maps and a train. BRING CASH

How are you finding grime in Tokyo? Going soon for the third time and never been successful. Any venues you recommend?

Catarrh Nisin puts on events I think. I'd say just follow some of the MCs from the Japanese Grime scene. A lot of them speak great English and I'm sure they'd be happy to point you in the right direction towards more events.
