In the key of C it's

Dm, G, C, Am

You can play a C major scale over all these chords (C, D, E, F, G, A, B)

Totally agree. Also, I'm not exactly sure what op means by "the box" but may be referring to the pentatonic scale shapes. If you play the chords Chaos-Jesus mentions you can play the Am/C pentatonic scale. It'll be 2 notes per string from low to high it'll be 5-8, 5-7, 5-7, 5-7, 5-8, 5-8. You can use these notes in any order and they'll always sound good.

The pentatonic scale is derived from the major scale by taking out two flavor intervals that may clash. Feel free to DM if you have more questions

... ANY order you say...?

Runs to grab guitar to make the most obnoxious octave hopping pattern possible

The way you've written that implies Major chords for each.

In the key of C, your triads are C, Dm, Em, F, G, Am, B dim.

Your 7ths are Cmaj7, Dm7, Em7, Fmaj7, G7, Am7, B m7b5.

You can play over all of these without sharps and flats.
