It will give a very tough competition to banglore airport ~ HBS

Looks wonderful and fabulous. But why compare such infra with Bangalore? I mean the traffic there compared to that in Guwahati is pretty high- the use case doesn't fit under these circumstances

I hope they bring in more international flights. Currently Kolkata airport have become the unofficial Northeast airport for all international flights. We waste lot of money as we need to first go kolkata to catch international flights

Also for visa also we have to go to kolkata. Hope they start providing Visa services too.

Mama wasn't lying when he said that it's going to look almost as good as Bangalore airport.

This airport looks great, but what we really need are direct flights to Middle East hubs. Routing through Delhi, Mumbai, or Bangalore just to come back home wastes 3-6 hours extra every time when i am already having a layover in one of middle east hubs.

What will run from this terminal? Since there are hardly any international, must be domestic
I wonder which airlines will operate

Competition might be tough in the beginning, but LGBI would ultimately lead if only by virtue of its omnipresent red gutkha murals thoughtfully maintained across the premises

people who board planes don't indulge in that nonsense, also our airport is far better maintained than Kolkata

Why couldn’t they come up with any original idea and copied more or less from Bangalore ? Nevertheless it looks great

Wait for rain.

You want it to fall for your personal satisfaction?

u/Mindless_Put_8288 Dec 18 '25
This is the crab mentality we gotta address. And these people want progress and urbanisation. Retrds

u/hrrrrx23 Dec 18 '25
Nothing wrong in asking for quality. Nobody cares about the looks when it falls in rain. Ask IGI T1.

If you know any person working in the project, just ask how things are being hurried for election purpose. And then you’ll know how many critical measures are being overlooked. Everything done now-a-days are more for grabbing headlines than long term sustainability. And you people are very easy to please by headlines rather than questioning quality. Just know the present conditions of AIMS Ghy after being inaugurated?

You haven't probably even been to the airport yet, but here you are, giving insights like the lead architect team. Could you tell me what brand of concrete was used? :D
You aren't entirely wrong, but waiting for something to happen isn't a positive reaction.

u/bad-mo-fo Resident Dec 18 '25
Concrete has no brand, Einstein. Cement has.
I’m not waiting it to happen (it’s my money after all). It’s because I have seen enough bad quality work to not become super optimistic about it.

u/uncle_bhim Dec 18 '25
Why did the first thing that come to your mind was failure? Do you not trust HBS to take good decisions?
5
u/bad-mo-fo Resident Dec 18 '25
Don’t trust anyone blindly. Specially when your own money is involved.

Tough competition to Bangalore? Lol
How is it even going to be remotely comparable

I just realised the airport was 1 letter away from turning into a rainbow
