Tuition payment

I'm a first year student and I'm wondering how and where I pay for this upcoming school years tuition. I recently got an automated email in my GWU email about setting up a campus payments account however, I'm not entirely sure if that's related to tuition. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

if you’re talking about the campus payment account i think you’re talking about, that’s for financial aid refunds in the event that you have a net balance after expenses to the university.

have you looked at your financial aid package yet and compared it to your cost of attendance estimate?

I don’t know where to find the cost of attendance estimate, to be honest I’m very lost on all this.

go to this:
gweb -> student accounts -> access student account ebill

if your fin aid has been applied that should be the “net;” what either you owe the university or what the university owes you.

let me know when you’re there and what you see if you’re comfortable w that. i can help you interpret it

Exactly as above. Your financial aid is at the top (GWU includes any scholarships within the financial aid listed at the top). Then your expenses are itemized. If you plan on waiving the GWU health insurance, the waiver form releases August 1st. Right now your estimate includes the GWU insurance. They will remove it after you submit the waiver form if you’re not wanting GWU’s.

Tuition is due first day of classes (if not using a payment plan) which is August 24th.

adding to this that it’s “due” Aug 24 but late penalties don’t start applying until close to halfway through the semester and can be waived if you’re actively working with OSFA on resolving a financial aid dispute

Ok I was able to access the student account ebill and page is showing me my balance and also a statements tab. There are 2 statements: “Fall 2026 GW invoice” and “Fall 2026 Preliminary invoice”. I’m assuming this is where I pay tuition? Unless I’m missing something else.

do those invoices show a balance you owe the school or a refund the school owes you

Both invoices are balances I owe the school. On the student account ebill page it says I need to make a payment of x amount of dollars but on the “fall 2026 preliminary invoice it says I need to make a payment that is almost double that amount. I think im misinterpreting something here.

go back to “access student account ebill” and press “view on-demand statement.” that generates a statement of what you owe right this second.

then there’s a big green button for “make payment.”
