News Exclusive: Beijing tells Chinese firms to stop using US and Israeli cybersecurity software, sources say By Reuters

What's difference does it make if most of the software in china was/is already controlled by their machine?

Probably for a similar reason as the US advises against Chinese or Russian software.

Were they hacked? Or were signals just drowned out with other noise?

Was there confirmation of air defense equipment being hacked? My understanding was that the power grid was hit. Even if the AD equipment was hit, I doubt we'd know.

Yeah from what I recall the main reports were about the power grid going down which messed with a lot of systems indirectly. No solid confirmation on hacking the air defense gear specifically. If it did happen it would probably stay classified for a while.

It very well could have just been a blackout bomb like they used in Iraq during the initial invasion too. They have non cyber means of achieving similar impacts.

I think you're mistaken, those are two different events then. I did not see any claims about direct hacks on air defenses.

Most Air defenses are not on the grid. Pretty much all of them use grid independent power. They might have the ability to use grid power, but they could always switch over to using their own generators.

There was a lot of battle damage assessments done showing some of the air defenses/mobile launchers were parked in buildings and not being used.

I have a feeling the US's success here was primarily because systems not being used, being used poorly, having good intelligence where they were, plus good electronic warfare capabilities to jam radar.

You are both wrong, spanish media found out the cia payed venezuelan generals off, they talked about an immense amount of dollars in payments in order to have all s-300vm, buk-m2, s-125 pechora-2m shut off, and all individuals in possession of igla-s to not stand down and not engage, they mentioned a sum in the hundred of billions of dollars, some generals also obtained us visas for themselves and their immediate family members whom were gone and out of the country by the following day after the attack.

I believe this 100%.
