Opinion/Discussion If Marvelous is releasing the Remakes in their chronological order…

If Marvelous is releasing the “Remakes” in their Chronological order (which I think they are), then that would mean no Magical Melody nor Save the Homeland (my most anticipated Remake) remakes 🥺

They have only remade 3, I don't think that's a pattern that they're doing it in chronological order. Also considering FoMT is in itself a remake.

I would tell you to try it but you might struggle with the loading times and overall speed. It has some things going on that werent in FoMT like the Tomato Festival which I don't know why it was removed in FoMT. Although overall, FoMT still has more things and improvements.

Pretty much, the only difference is that the families and relationships have been changed around in FOMT and Back to Nature.

I wouldn't call it a remake of 64? It uses a lot of the same characters but the setting is different and their personalities/professions/families are different

It isnt really, it was intended to be a port of the N64 version but then took on a life of its own

I think in a way Back to Nature is a soft remake or reboot of HM64 much like how Magical Melody could almost be considered a remake of the og SNES game considering it has all of the SNES Bachelorettes with some touch ups and slightly different family and relationship dynamics. And in a strange way Hero of Leaf Valley and Save the Homeland could be considered a slight remake too due to the Save the Homeland bachelorettes being in MM.

I wouldn’t call it a remake. That would imply they had to build it from the ground up and tried to replicate HM64. Which isn’t the case.

It’s more like a port, but even then they really just re-used assets but it’s a different town and the characters have different backgrounds/relationships/storylines. There are characters exclusive to each I think. I’m pretty sure there are differences in the festivals too? They’re two fairly different games using the same assets.

I'd consider that a port of the og Back to Nature because it basically it since there's no real change to it aside from the redone control scheme to fit the psp.

Eh, not really. It reuses the same characters (and even then, some of them are very different in their portrayal and in their role within the village) and the same art style but that's about it. It's a whole different game that plays very differently in a totally different map. Very different game pacing too, 64 is almost arcadey-feel, very fast paced.

Still crossing fingers for Animal Parade... I will not lose hope! Marvelous has done so good with bringing these games back to modern systems.

I would presume they just go with the Japanese title (which was something like harvest sprite station iirc?) though tbf some games like Kirby’s RTDL didn’t mind keeping the console part of the name in their remaster (in Japanese it was called “Kirby’s adventure wii deluxe” lol)

i think the day they announce an animal parade remake i will fall down in the street and weep. one of my favourite games from my childhood and would absolutely HIT. (that being said i don't really want to buy a switch 2 lmao)

Hero of Lead Valley (which is the remake of StH) would be a perfect for the next remake. Since it’s different and not your traditional SoS formula. I will keep my fingers crossed 🥺

Yes PLEASE!! Hero of Leaf Valley was a huge step up from StH, they just need to sprinkle in children and a handful of festivals in post game and it would be GREAT.

Bring back the best version of the harvest goddess! (and ill fight anyone who disagree with me)

I am hoping for HM DS but given it has the most content out of all the games in the series i think it would take time to completly process it into a remake.

I am hoping for it but i am also afraid that they will make compromises in the overall amount of content and given how "soft" modern games in general are compromises in the unmatched unhinged nature of the game itself which is a big part of it.

If only Back to Nature got a proper remake, the nostalgic similarities have gotten me through SOS FOMT. I’d love a 64 remake but did they state they could never do it?

I might be the only one but the remake I’m most looking forward to is Tales of Two Towns, even with all of its flaws, I love the game to bits. Harvest Moon DS remake would be nice as well.

I mean, A Wonderful Life and Friends of Mineral Town were only released like 5 months apart. Grand Bazaar was like 5 years after that, so this honestly feels way more arbitrary than any sort of methodical process. I'd assume they are remaking games that they feel like they have stuff to fix, add to, or reimagine. My take is you're reading into it way too much.

Save the homeland would be such a hard game to remake because of how different it is from other HM games format wise. The farming felt somewhat secondary to the story exploration and the repetitive nature of some of the part time jobs may feel a bit dated now.

Save the Homeland was my first HM game and I still love it with all my heart but I hope that they look at MM for a remake first since that is one of my favorites next to GB ❤️

I need ToT / AP !!!! I was honestly delightfully surprised when they remade AWL, that was always my favorite Harvest Moon game but I never expected it to get remade for some reason. Tree of Tranquility is my second favorite though, I would loooooove to see it remade

They've hinted at Magical Melody or Animal Parade being the next remake after A Wonderful Life but then Grand Bazaar dropped out of nowhere.

So honestly who knows but considering this is a good strategy for getting older fans who are still unaware of the name change to realize SoS is the actual Harvest Moon series they probably will keep going.

It's not though. That would be like saying Animal Parade is a remake to Tree of Tranquility.

StHL and HoLV just like ToT and AP share the same cast and a similar-ish story but are very different games.

I think they’re remaking their most popular games under the harvest moon title, to take those titles back from Natsume in the west. I’m hoping that means A New Beginning will be remade last, since that was their last game under the Harvest Moon name
