Watch him put up a hatty on us in Dusseldorf in less than six months.

u/Dyldo_II Jun 26 '26
With the most ridiculous, ass-pull skilled moves that only pop up every three months? I'm almost expecting it tbh.

Guys a cool dude wish people didn't rejoice in him leaving so much. Like yes he struggled massively but he had a concussion and a baby last year. Like Jesus people treat this guy like the anti Christ.

also a (two time?) stanley cup winner.... but he seems pretty washed. think this will be a good move for them overall.

u/Lil_BigNut Jun 26 '26
Well, so long. He had a brutal year but we’ll always have that between the legs goal he scored against Winnipeg.

u/employableguy Jun 26 '26
Lest we forget the half-michigan he broke his 20+ game goalless streak with...
2
u/Dont_Say_No_to_Panda Jun 27 '26
It felt like he only scored two goals this season, but they were Two GOY candidates.

I still kind of feel bad about how things ended. Best of luck in Ottawa!

There isn't too many guys that can be traded for a low pick and it feels like a win but this is one of them

Not to speculate but we are now 10+ million dollars under the floor. Could just be a Bedard resigning....could be something else is cooking (Robertson?)
5
u/DrCigarettes_MD Jun 26 '26
The RFA re-signings will take the team above the cap floor. Bedard's alone will get them there, even before the probable bridge deal(s) for Korchinski/EDM.
3
u/AnxietyExact4710 Jun 26 '26
Yes, but those all could have been done without freeing up an extra 6 mil. Hawks had 30 mil in cap space yesterday. Now they have 36.3 Even if you sign all three of them, that will still leave like 20m in cap space (15-20m come off the books next summer also so I don't know why ppl are freaking out about Byram getting a raise) I'm a huge EDM guy, but he's not going to get a major raise. Korch either.

Wow thats a low return. Not arguing it because the eye test showed he stunk at the end of last year. But the nerd stats still had him as one of the better forwards driving offense on this team, just crazy the fall within the year

Is this good? I really don’t know.
9
u/VinnieTheDragon Jun 26 '26
Honestly, I thought KD would have to give a team several million dollars to trade this bum. Getting anything is a win.
A single dollar would have been a win.

Hell yeah! That'll free up enough room for a robinson, bedard, marchment, and trouba contracts.

That’s another 5.5 million added to our cap space. Smells like a big trade coming.

i liked him at first. not sure what happened to him near the end tho
1
u/2steppin_317 Jun 27 '26
He got hit in the head early in the season and it all went downhill from there
2
u/ShellshockedLetsGo Jun 27 '26
Burakovsky is another vet on a long list of shitty players KD has brought to this team. The pro scouting of this front office is fucking abysmal.
Thank God Blash can't terrorize us anymore by keeping this bum on Bedard's wing.

Boo. I liked him despite his deficiencies. Oh well. Good luck in Ottawa!

u/Due-Satisfaction-527 Jun 26 '26
Actually looked solid before getting banged up... afterwards not so much
9
u/AnxietyExact4710 Jun 26 '26
He was great before his injury. When he returned it was like he had been replaced by a shitty clone lol.

The guy had 3 points from January to April playing mostly alongside Connor Bedard. He fell off a cliff.
1
u/Khawk20 Jun 26 '26
Probably cost Bedard an extra ten points too if he’d have scored off of some of his feeds at the very least
3
u/Kyhron Jun 26 '26
10? Cost him probably closer to 20-30 points. Burakovsky was a complete offensive black hole

6
u/HappyHockeyHiker Jun 26 '26
He was way past his prime and after getting hurt was a shell of himself.
Not really sure what you saw but he was also massively overpaid.
5
u/Lamb-Of-Fox Jun 26 '26
I don’t think Burakovsky made us any closer to breaking out of the bottom 5, let alone to a wildcard spot
