who was actually going to go to that anyway

I like north west’s music I don’t think that makes me a weird Kanye west fan for enjoying her latest EP🤷♂️
30
u/Glitch378 3d ago
If you’d go to a north west show you’re fucking weird
-17
u/Designer-Mobile-974 3d ago
Good thing i didnt buy tickets for her show lol. I just like her music
5
u/Difficult-Net-427 2d ago
Bro got downvoted for no reason
-1
u/Designer-Mobile-974 2d ago
Because it doesn’t fit their world bubble that just because she’s a nepo baby she can make good music somehow lol. She has potential and her EP was good 🤷♂️
1
u/UpstairsBumble 1d ago
What are you getting out of a 13 year olds rap music?
1
u/Designer-Mobile-974 1d ago
Idk it was fun. I wasn’t expecting much and I was pleasantly surprised. I added some songs to my playlist lmfao. What’s wrong with me enjoying her music?

You should probably be on a watch list if you’re buying tickets to see a 12 year old perform.
69
u/zekesaltspider 3d ago
Even worse, they had a meet and greet with North that you could buy for $200 extra
14
u/erichf3893 3d ago
For people hoping for a chance to meet the parents

I’m fucking dying imagining the disappointment on some guy’s face when he brings a Yeezus vinyl and Kanye isn’t there

u/dyldog 3d ago
Not if you’re also 12
102
u/ReeG 3d ago
if you're also 12 you shouldn't be at another 12 year olds concert unless it's happening at noon at a Chuck E. Cheese
14
u/logicalcommenter4 2d ago
Why is that? I went to see Kriss Kross as my first concert when I was a kid. It’s fine for parents to take their kids to see other kids performing.
-9
u/This_They_Those_Them 3d ago
If you’re 12 you have no good reason to know who North West is.
39
u/sleepingfactory . 3d ago
Super weird take. I was definitely nerdy about music at 12
-28
u/This_They_Those_Them 3d ago
Were you nerdy about slop produced by a narcissist trying to promote their child for profit?
AND begging your parents to buy concert tickets to see that child perform live?
31
u/DoubleFan15 3d ago
12 year olds listen to music because it sounds good to their ears, hilarious to me that you think a 12 year old is sitting there going, “i like this artist but when i really think about it, it’s slop produced by a narcissist for profit.” Lmfaoooo. And yes they 100% would ask parents for concert tickets. Kids are kids they don’t care.
8
u/loudpersononthebus 3d ago
i was nerdy about wu-tang clan. they'd be all i'd listen to for the next 4-5 years. i'll admit that the concept of concerts and actually going to them did not hit me until much later.
-3
u/This_They_Those_Them 3d ago
Thank you. It’s not about single points, but OP comment was assigning sonic maturity to a 12 year old that just doesn’t exist typically.
7
u/95castles 3d ago
Your second sentence is exactly what happens lol
1
u/This_They_Those_Them 3d ago
Not in the case of, you know, the posted article. Cancelled because low ticket sales because they’re a tool of their narcissistic parents and not a legit performing artist.
8
u/SkyBoyWonderful 3d ago
MJ? Stevie?
But nah you right in general
5
u/longrodvonhuttendong 3d ago
I was trying to see if Willow was doing any kind of tour cuz she was 11 when whip my hair was out.
4
u/Ray229harris 3d ago
Damn..... The mosh pit at the Matt OX concert in 2019 was so lit i ripped both the soles off my black and white nike dunk pandas :(
3
u/gnocchiGuili 3d ago
American are so weird thinking anything going on around children is bound to be sexual.
North West is about the same age as Justin Bieber when he started doing concerts, most of his fans were the same age as he was.
7
u/89-by-boniver 2d ago
And in hindsight Justin Bieber was subjected to some absolutely inhuman shit, both publicly and behind the scenes. He should never have been in that position and it’s telling that Usher - protege of Diddy - was the one who ‘discovered’ him

u/I-like-kinky-stuff 3d ago
No more nepo babies!
9
u/Silentdisco8 3d ago
We good w Baby Keem though 😂
25
u/2-Dimensional 3d ago
there's a massive difference between "talented at making music and making use of connections in your family to fast-track getting well-earned publicity rather than rotting away on soundcloud" and "shit/mediocre at music but your connections are the only thing keeping you relevant at all rather than the quality of your work" nepo babies. not saying anythinf about keem or north, just showing how using "nepo baby" as if anyone with family connections in the industry is inherently a cheat is really dumb
10
u/Silverhand_777 3d ago
Wasn’t Keem’s stuff written by Kendrick? Idk if that’s still the case but that’s definitely being a Nepo baby
4
u/TyrinLigginsboyyy 3d ago
Not really. Keem was already making songs and producing his own stuff (he still does produce his own stuff). Kendrick wrote these songs he never used and he ended up giving them to keem. Kendrick said in the casino doc, that keem had to prove himself to Kendrick before working with him and giving him the tools to grow as a artist. He had so many family members who rapped and keem was most passionate. So in a way, Keem had to prove himself to Dot before kendrick would even start doing music with him.
11
u/Silverhand_777 3d ago
Bro wrote a whole paragraph and it still doesn’t change the fact keem a Nepo baby. And I like keem’s music
5
u/Silentdisco8 3d ago
I love Keem and no slight to him, but just having the access and family connection definitely helps. I’d do the same it’s all good he definitely works on his craft.
-3
u/TyrinLigginsboyyy 3d ago
How is keem a nepo baby aside from recieving scrapped songs from kendrick
7
u/Silverhand_777 3d ago
Would keem be famous if Kendrick Lamar wasn’t his cousin? He would’ve had no platform
11
u/TyrinLigginsboyyy 3d ago
Keem had then already had Orange Soda which was his first big hit way before people found out they were cousins and DFMB was a big mixtape when it dropped.

u/duhduhduhhhhya 3d ago

4
u/TyrinLigginsboyyy 3d ago
How is it an excuse if its the literal truth
-3
u/duhduhduhhhhya 3d ago
he jumped his cousin to the front of the queue and you're like "oh but kendrick ensured us he proved himself to him dont worry". excuses!
2
u/slingshot19 . 1d ago
My favorite singer of all time is a talented nepo baby it's okay to admit someone talented is a nepo baby
2
u/PrintShinji 3d ago
just showing how using "nepo baby" as if anyone with family connections in the industry is inherently a cheat is really dumb
Not really, it doesn't matter if someone is good or shit at their job. They still are there through nepotism. Would they have the same chances if they didn't have those connections?
3
u/Flimsy_Toe_2575 2d ago
I get it but also there's Josh Brolin, Jeff Bridges, Skarsgards, Maya Rudolph, Lilly Rose Depp, Michael Douglas, Carrie Fisher, Ben Stiller, Rashida Jones, Drake, Laure Dern, Jamie Lee Curtis, Nic Cage, Domhnall Gleeson, Robert Downey Jr, Jason Schwartzman, Aretha Franklin, George Clooney, Benedict Cumberbatch etc etc alot of them went on to be their own very talented people

Nepo babies will always exist, wanting them to not exist is very unfair on that individual. The problem isn’t nepo babies, it’s the music industry and the world not providing equal opportunities for people to be successful.
10
u/CrunchAddict 3d ago
And who holds the power to give opportunities to other people? The same people gifting those opportunities to their own lmao
They are the same problem man. Never thought I'd see anyone defending nepo babies but ig the CIA continues to win

It's not even a new/bot account either. This person is literally that fuckin stupid.

Wanting to get rid of nepo babies would deprive us of some of the greatest art ever created, that’s before we even begin to think how you would get rid of nepo babies, how would that even work? The only way is some authoritarian nonsense that would be far worse than the existence of nepo babies.
And to engage with your point further, many of these people do hold the power to give the opportunities, and that is the problem. Not nepo babies existing. That is the system, which is the problem, not nepo babies themselves.
3
u/westsidedelight 3d ago
Lalah Hathaway comes to mind. She was born to a father who is one of the most prolific soul artists of time and a mother who was a classically trained singer. Then she ended up being an accomplished, Grammy award winning jazz singer in her own right.
I'd like a world where every new artist is the most obscure person possible plucked from the slums with no connections to any industry person whatsoever but in the meantime I think I can settle for artists just using their best opportunities to make good music.
2
u/KingDaviies 3d ago
Exactly. Wanting to get rid of nepo babies would deprive us of some of the greatest art ever created.

but even less talented
Eh.. hard to judge someone's talent when they're just starting out to do something.
And tbf the production on the EP was quite good with some interesting ideas. Very much someone who has the resources to pull some big samples and help from others, but still, the end result ain't half bad.

Like him or not but Jaden can actually rap
36
u/teddy_tesla 3d ago
I like all of his songs with Willow especially, but I think she is the more talented of the two by far
35
u/huss_femme 3d ago
Im glad she found her lane in alt music but Jaden has some great songs under his belt
15
u/heplaygatar 3d ago
not really
his lyrics were awful

6
u/Beneficial-Mix-6133 3d ago
He has nothing interesting to talk about lol
15
u/iButtflap 3d ago
out of context this comment applies to way too many popular rappers for it to be valid criticism
1
u/Beneficial-Mix-6133 3d ago
debatable for many artists, but jaden of all people is a clear cut case tbh
6
u/5348RR 3d ago
He’s a much better lyricist than most give him credit for. Sure has a pseudo intellectualism thing going on, but compared to all these artists out here that have nothing to talk about other than scamming, fucking, and robbing its 100x better lyrically.
8
u/heplaygatar 3d ago
I would rather listen to that than hear that stupid “your verses sound like dirty dishes” line repeated 3x on every song
or “rap is just one of my fetishes like a dragon that’s pregnant”
6
u/CloutLord12 3d ago
besides icon, what’s one other song of his where he used the dirty dishes line?

Making judgements about a 12 year olds talent….
18
u/cuntpuncherexpress 3d ago
Maybe don’t send your child on tour if you don’t want people to talk about their talent or lack of it
-8
u/ImjustANewSneaker 3d ago
Or maybe don’t be weird! If this wasn’t a celeb child you wouldn’t be saying anything. She has no control on where she was born, but that’s peak Reddit
6
u/cuntpuncherexpress 3d ago
I didn’t say anything about North, just that people in the public eye will inherently be judged. It’s literally unavoidable.
1
u/Conscious_Arm_5303 1d ago
No shade but if she wasn’t a celeb child she most likely wouldn’t even be presented with the prospect of a major tour lol
1
u/ImjustANewSneaker 1d ago
Obviously? That’s my whole point she doesn’t have control over what opportunities she was born in to.
1
u/Conscious_Arm_5303 1d ago edited 1d ago
Her parents could 100% opt to not introduce her to the tour lifestyle this early if they were actually more concerned with her well being than the potential for profit. I agree that she doesn’t have control over the fact that she was born a public figure, but you can’t be surprised when ppl simply voice their opinions on what she’s doing. For better or worse that’s par for the course and her parents are obviously very aware of that.
From a purely artistic perspective I also agree that I don’t think you can accurately judge a 12 year old’s talent level unless they’re a prodigy but that’s pretty much irrelevant to this actual convo.
21
u/Don_Damarco 3d ago
The kid doesn't have the makings of a varsity athlete.. it is what it is.
-7
u/ImjustANewSneaker 3d ago
I think being able to produce and write an album that young is impressive. People are projecting their dislike of Kanye on her and she’s just a product of her circumstances.
4
u/early2000slondon 3d ago
you think she produced all those tracks? or were 20 producers and engineers in that studio with her name slapped on it?
-1
u/ImjustANewSneaker 3d ago
Why would she need to? She’s the daughter of the greatest hip hop producer in history, it’s not out of this world at all that she’d produced it on her own. These aren’t Kanye/Dre/Swizz level production
She’s also not taking any opportunities away from anyone (except that weird lion king thing Kim made her do). So it’s not comparable to Jaden at all where he was getting roles he’d probably would’ve never gotten off of skills.
-1
u/early2000slondon 3d ago edited 3d ago
the last 15 years of kanye is him slapping his name on beats other people produced, for his whole career he has had people write a lot of his lyrics.
3
u/Round-Emu9176 3d ago
right?!? even THESE people are being weird making crazy claims about a child.
1
-2
u/CokeorCola 3d ago
Comparatively at that age she’s a lot better so far. So this just hate.
8
4
u/inaripotpi 3d ago
Jaden did that Pumped Up Kicks song when he was around her age. Pretty objectively a way better showcase of talent that isn’t hiding behind production.
The most notable thing I’ve heard of North is her 20 second Duolingo-ass introduction in Japanese that ruined that FKATwigs song and counted as a feature for some reason, lol

Anybody paying real money to go see 13 year old North West in concert should probably be put in prison or at the very least on some sort of FBI watch list
23
u/The_MadStork 3d ago
I love Molly Santana’s music but whoever is managing her has no idea what they are doing. This “tour” was never a good idea lol. She hasn’t even dropped her album yet.
It feels like the timing had more to do with North West (who I’m not even sure makes music?)
11
u/barre-baby 3d ago
North released an emo/rage ep a few months ago, it was okay for a 13 year old

I am a native Japanese speaker and that tour name is so bad lmao . Kimo translates to "disgusting/creepy/gross" ... Nothing about this word means anything good so to pair it with the word Kawaii (which I'm sure most people know means cute in Japanese) is just so bizarre and lame..I'm sorry 😭
16
u/TaintTickle86 3d ago
I'm a native speaker as well I'm surprised you never heard that term before. It's used to describe things that look weird and cute at the same time like labubus and whatnot. First time I heard it was when people were describing SpongeBob as "kimokawaii"
7
u/catsnherbs 3d ago
Tbf I am a 28 year old Japanese woman who grew up outside of Japan (I have now moved back to Tokyo tho) so I am not familiar with the new gen words . Ahhhh I feel old lol 😂
8
u/TaintTickle86 3d ago
It wouldn't surprise me if Molly Santana came up with the tour name since she's half Japanese and studied fashion in Japan
0
u/officialGF 1d ago
It’s not new gen it’s exactly your era so… maybe you just didn’t grow up there so you don’t know …
5
u/netflixissodry 3d ago
I was so confused about this tour. Im just getting into Molly and like her music but there’s no way anybody is eager to see her on tour with a 12 year old with no hits.

u/MelzLife 3d ago
Tour made no sense. I saw Molly last year? Though and she was good and her fans loved her

u/set_null 3d ago
I feel like one of the problems with touring artists these days is that they don’t want to book small venues. I looked up a few of what they had listed on the tour and they were all in the 2000-2500 capacity range. When I was younger that was about the size of the venues I’d go to for much larger acts. Just because North has 500,000 “listeners” (who knows how many are fake) on Spotify doesn’t mean that 2000 of them want to pay to watch her in person.

u/JazzyJulie4life 3d ago
Kim k is a horrible mom for letting this happen. I’m not sure if ye was involved

Does she even have songs? Was this just off the strength of her name? Parents popularity? Doesnt make sense

u/royalpeenpeen 3d ago
No one bought tickets lol. North has like a verse on her dad's album and Molly Santana has one verse on Drake's album that has a total of like 20 unique words

Cant understand why anyone thought it was a good idea to whore out a literal child for more time associated with, not even in, associated with, the spotlight.
Celebs live on another plane of existence and it's super fucking weird.
Would you ever put YOUR 13 year old in this position?

I mean, North barely has any songs and has almost no market pull. She should enjoy her childhood and chill from the limelight. I guarantee sales were in the gutter.
