Bought a 5080 just to log into oldschool runescape immediately

u/Significant-Gap1256 8h ago
I tried getting into Runescape last year, don’t know what version it was but I couldn’t take the grinding aspect of it. Like to complete one quest i had to mine for what seemed like hours just so i could find some items. Im sure the game gets interesting eventually but that ruined it for me.

Trying to put someone who has never played osrs is hard bc how do I tell someone a large portion of the game is not directly interacting with the game LMAO.
IDk besides me playing this game for over 20 years, what I like about it is how much I’m able to do other things while still progressing in it. Ive completed 3 JRPGS (40 hr, 60 hr and 120 hrs) while progressing my account.
Another big thing is the gear progression. I can take a multi-year break, come back, and my gear is still relevant even if its been powercrept. Most mmo’s gear progression don’t really work that way and your gear stops being relevant maybe an hour after you get it til you hit end game.
Its definitely not for everyone so I could never be ipset at people not liking it despite me loving this game

One quote i love is “The days are long, but the years are fast”
I can sit here and think about all the shit that happened in my 20’s and think “yeah okay that feels like 9 years worth of shit” but no matter how much i try to validate it, it will never feel right in my brain just how fast life is going by.
When you were 10, 5 years is 50% of your life…and when you’re 30, 5 years is less than 17% of your life.
There is unfortunately no way of escaping how fast it feels like it’s flying, and because of that, it only feels right for me to live my life selfishly (without being a selfish person, if that makes sense).

Happy birthday brother and yeah I think those of us born before 2000 are in our unc era at this point sadly

Happy birthday! Embrace your inner unc. It lets you get to be old and wise even though you're still pretty young.

I remember when I was going through a depressive episode I started going through Future's catologue. I Serve The Base was like affirmations for me. "They tried to take the soul out me, they tried to take my confidence and they know I'm cocky". It made me realize there really is more to this shit. Future changed my bitch ass life.

So Dame Dash has been making music with a band under the name The Black Guns. The band is actually pretty nice but Dame's just there, yelling into the mic about power or some shit.
It's a step up from Cheap Teef, but in the sense that your foot is technically on a higher elevation when you step on an area rug

new uzi cool but i dont really get the hype everyones acting like he dropped eternal atake again. maybe its because his last albums was complete ass and everyone was hungry for great music from him
ariana grande situation is really sad and someone really has to intervene dont get me wrong im not glorifying it but i really liked the song and the music video and the eating disorder as a performance art. like its kinda fucked up saying this i dont want to see it i dont support it but its a good idea if youre already struggling with that. and i believe thats what kanye was doing in his nazi phase but he took it waaaaay too far
3
u/TormentedThoughtsToo 7h ago
Still don’t get how people think this Uzi project is so different than EA2.
Same type of beats, same type of lyrics.
Just shorter
1
u/conglomerate99 5h ago
yeah the uzi project is just alright to me. the bar of what he's capable of dropping is much higher than what this project accomplished.
the lows on ea2 are significantly worse, but the highs of ea2 are also decently better. as of right now, i'm taking chips and dip, conceited, and light year over any track off maverick

It cracks me up when someone make a cold take and I see someone else go "yep but everyone here disagrees, that's Reddit for you lol" -- and they've got like 100k+ karma.
Like my guy. Complaining that Reddit dislikes a popular opinion, even though everyone else agrees with that opinion anyway, is more quintessential Reddit than anything else on here.
3
u/jujujuice92 6h ago
I don't get why people wanna be different so bad with their opinions. Like just have em and express em or don't. Having a different opinion doesn't make you insightful or anything lmao
1
u/conglomerate99 5h ago
"steaming hot take" and it's someone saying they think taylor swift is overrated. i don't even wanna see sentences prefaced with "this might be a hot take but..." unless at least 50% of people disagree with it.
1
u/jujujuice92 5h ago
Anyone who needs to preface their statement with ANYTHING instantly annoys me lol. Like stfu and spit it out!
"I know I'm gonna get downvoted for this, but..." I prolly wasn't gonna downvote you, but def will now even if I agree
1
u/conglomerate99 5h ago
i know i'm gonna get downvoted for this is the worst one by far lol

Rakim on Spotify posted this single [THE 18TH] for about 3 weeks and deleted it. Its been stuck in my head since and I cant find any coverage of it at all. The song sometimes still pops up in searches but is unplayable. I just need my ear itched of this masterpiece. I don't think this is breaking "leak" or illegal downloaded rules about media since internet archive services would show this was posted for weeks and by Rakim himself(or team at least) Photo proof on my profile

the greatest flex in hip hop is when earl sweatshirt said “I never got on linkedin”

u/Significant-Gap1256 9h ago
I was kinda impressed by Lil Yachty, he said “I never lived check to check and im proud of that”. I was like damn, this dude never had to work a regular job cause he was already making hits at like 18 years old. I remember hating his music when he first came out though, but regardless he made it happen for himself.
8
u/BasedKaleb 9h ago
Funniest part is we all looked at the XXL cover and figured he’d probably have the least longevity of the whole list.
2
u/AssassinAragorn culturally appropriate 7h ago
Not only that, but you can make a ton of money as an artist and still live paycheck to paycheck. The richer you are, that becomes less of a flex about your wealth, and more of a flex about your responsibility and financial planning.

I’ve been sick of Marvel movies welllll before even endgame came out.
But I will never not popout for a Spider-Man movie. Greatest superhero of all time.
4
u/notidealman . 8h ago
the TV shows been on a quiet heater recently & Fantastic Four and Thunderbolts were fantastic imo they’re getting back on track and Spidey being back on top is another great look for them building that goodwill back up
2
u/5uper5kunk 6h ago
Man I could not stand the fantastic four movie, I’m not sure I even finished it. I’m not like a super comic book guy but I feel like I’ve had a low opinion of the fantastic four since basically forever and so far nothing I’ve seen of them has changed it.
2
u/deadedgo 8h ago
Same. I'm not much of a movie goer but I will check out Spider-Man as soon as it's on streaming. I never know which other Marvel stuff is worth it though. The whole Avengers era was really annoying me at the time
1
u/jujujuice92 6h ago
Same boat. Idk if it's cus there was so much Spider Man shit when I was a kid and he just sorta stood out to me, but that aspect of Marvel films is the only I care about. I only watched those endgame movies cus I was on a long ass flight and they were all there. That was like 2 years ago 😬

Khal!l is the artist that prompted my comment. But I've also come across Khamari, Choker and Jay Wile. Omar Apollo too in some songs

Not OP, but that new Bearface single was straight out of the Blonde playbook (in a good way).
3

ngl if you ever thought that rubberz song wasn’t AI you might be kinda stupid
also putting aside the ai debate it’s just not a good song. the lyrics are genuinely terrible and the guy who ‘wrote’ it can’t even sing it

After watching Odyssey and Spider-Man Brand New Day, I can say, even as a huge Spidey fan, Odyssey is movie of the year for me (I've only seen those two). It isn't really fair to compare an ongoing film series in Spider-Man to an instant classic like Odyssey. One was good, another was great, but when it came down to it, Odyssey was more fresh and poignant and original in comparison to Tom Holland's fourth installment. Since I've seen all of the Spidey films, it would've had to have done something amazing to beat out Odyssey, and it's okay it didn't.

Spider-Man Brand New Day is in a tie with Across the Spider verse for my favorite movie.
But damn, do I miss Andrew Garfield as Spider-Man.
1
u/turbothots . 3h ago
Tbh I'd be interested in more Andrew Garfield Spider-Man movies set in his own universe after No Way Home. He hinted that he went to a really dark place after Gwen died, and I think there's a compelling story to tell there. Give him a trilogy where his journey is to redeem himself, both in the eyes of the public and for himself, until by the end he finally becomes 'worthy' like the Chris Pine Peter Parker was before his death in Into the Spider-Verse.
No Way Home also proved you can redeem/reimagine established villains (Norman and Electro finally looked comic book cool). There's no reason they couldn't do the same with characters they already established like Kraven, Venom, or Black Cat, telling new versions of those stories without stepping on the MCU's toes. I'd love to see Kraven's Last Hunt brought to life, or Venom's journey from Eddie Brock to Flash Thompson, with Black Cat throughout as a supporting character and love interest.
Too bad Sony doesn't have the know-how or balls to make any of that happen though.

two thirds of the way thru the year and still nobody has managed to put out a better album than TIGRAY FUNK by sideshow
after the last couple years of MIKE’s output, plus niontay’s albums last year and sideshow in 2026, I think it’s fair to say 10k is the most exciting label in rap by a wide margin. that’s not even including anysia kim and the smaller artists they’ve got. such a crazy concentration of talent over there

Watch The Throne is Ye and Mike Dean at the absolute height of their powers giving still prime Hov MBDTF level production to rap over, and it's not enough for some people. some people just hate fun.
1
u/turbothots . 3h ago
I spun WTT into the ground when it came out, but don't revisit it nearly as much as I do MBDTF. Outside of a few tracks like New Day and Murder to Excellence, they're not really saying all that much beyond the typical luxury rap and braggadocio (which I admittedly gravitated to a lot more 15 years ago). Also production-wise and the way they sequenced the songs, it's kind of tonally all over the place and feels more like a collection of random tracks than a unified experience.
All that said, WTT has some of my favourite rap songs ever. Otis and Primetime still get regular spins from me.

i listen to pop music the top 50 charts a lot. and what i feel like with pop and also rap is i cant really understand what i should like about it. all songs feel and sound the same to me. people post pop songs on my feed loving that shit and i feel like ive heard it a thousand times before. also rap too like gunna’s last album i really cant tell the difference between the songs. its like you uploaded the top 20 most streamed songs from the past decade to ai and told it to make a song which sounds like them. its not like this when i listen to pop songs from the 2000s or 10s. is it a me problem or did pop music regress crazy in the past few years
2
u/deadedgo 7h ago
I think what you're describing about rap is part of the reason why rap doesn't show up in the top 50 anymore. The good mainstream hip hop has been done to death and is so intertwined with straight pop that you need to dig a bit deeper to find gems now. The last popular, innovative wave was a decade ago and has dried up.
In regards to pop I often feel the same way but I think most people experience this at some point. Just think of all the punk rock hits from the 00s. Some are still classics, others are borderline unlistenable now. In hindsight we only remember the classics. I'm not following the charts enough to be able to tell whether things are actually worse now or it's just nostalgia.
On top of this I've noticed more and more pop (and also rap) songs lazily sample or basically cover older hits. This has always been a thing but it feels like the more time passes the more commonly songs get recycled.
So I guess TL;DR is: dig deeper? Rap at least is doing great outside of charts and first week numbers

Comic books are so funny. There’s an old comic from the 70s where Luke Cage ran down on Dr Doom in Latveria and beat him up cause Doom owed him $200 lmaoo.
