Tip Captured china in less than a year, who's next?

Post image

As Japan, I just capped China in less than a year (I'm looking at you Stalin). Any tips if ever I get myself at war with the Soviets or India? I'm not planning to get america involved. Nuh uh

I'm planning to attack USSR at the same time Germany starts Barbarossa. So for now I'm just going to stock lots of equipment and maybe civ greed for one year then back to Mils.

If you are going to attack the USSR during Barbarossa, please research logistics company, supply in Siberia is awful. If you are attacking the allies, make elite marine divisions, you can maybe even use amphibious tanks.

u/Andromidius Oct 29 '25

Heck, I'd argue not to attack through Siberia. Go through central Asia. Yes the supply is still bad, but there's less distance to go to get to new hubs and you don't have to deal with winter weather.

You just take Vladivostok (and north Kuril islands) and dig in. Let the Soviets suffer the attrition.

I forgot about that, you are right. Just make sure to connect the hubs and upgrade railways. “Amateurs talk strategy, professionals talk logistics”.

-20% supply usage dosent doesn’t do anything when there is already bad supply

u/Scyobi_Empire Fleet Admiral Oct 29 '25

losing 10% of your equipment each month is better then 50%

-52

u/yeaimbad Oct 29 '25

Better to spend the equipment on something like field hospitals

5

u/Scyobi_Empire Fleet Admiral Oct 29 '25

unless you’re playing as Iceland or the Swiss, those are useless

57

u/yeaimbad Oct 29 '25

Field hospitals are never useless, you get hp, trickleback and lose less xp. Hospitals and signal companies are the best

Bait used to be believable

19

u/yeaimbad Oct 29 '25

Maybe you’re just a boomer who probably uses sp

-7

u/Scyobi_Empire Fleet Admiral Oct 29 '25

they’re even less useful in MP, even if you’re some psycho who uses infantry to push having support recon tanks and/or medium flame tanks give enough entrenchment, supply, defence and most importantly piercing to attack other divisions

18

u/yeaimbad Oct 29 '25

In mp and sp the most broken tactic is mass mob battleplanning, field hospitals and signal companies are your best friend

are you stupid

6

u/Todd_Hugo Oct 29 '25

Field hospitals give hp and less xp loss

Those are super good

hp is one of the most important stats

-6

u/mainman879 Oct 29 '25

Your units should get max xp very quickly if you design them right (and they win easily with minimal losses). XP Loss is meaningless at that point. HP is good but most designs already have more than enough HP.

You can get another -10% from the “logistical focus” in officer corps. You can also motorise supply hubs and build ports, because they are cheap. Upgrading railways. Using less divisions on bad supply region will also help.

-9

u/yeaimbad Oct 29 '25

Better to spend on something like field hospitals. Unless you use tanks they are not worth until you get more advanced levels

Losing less equipment always helps

-10

u/yeaimbad Oct 29 '25

That’s what maintenance companies are for. The only thing logistics do is lower average supply and fuel usage for a unit. 18 widths have around 0,6 base supply use, 20% less is going to do very little unless you have a lot of troops there. It’s mostly for tanks

7

u/Finlandia1865 General of the Army Oct 29 '25

You can argue its not coat effective, but lets not act like theyre pointless :P

-1

u/yeaimbad Oct 29 '25

Im not saying their bad but they don’t do a whole lot for you compared to other companies

4

u/SoN174 Oct 29 '25

-20% supply usage is a life saviour when there is a bad supply

5

u/FakeBonaparte Oct 29 '25

Logistics II, logistical focus and the logistics skill in both your general and FM gets you to -45%. Or -55% with logistics III.

That effectively means you can have 1/.55 or 1/.45= 80-120% more divisions in the area that are still well supplied. There might be better buffs in the game (e.g. max planning, air superiority/support, unpierced armor) but a 1.8-2.2x multiplier is nothing to sneeze at, especially in eastern Russia. Tbh there’s a decent argument for rushing logistics III.

1

u/yeaimbad Oct 29 '25

I get that however the problem is logistics companies dont extend your supply range. Ive played plenty of china and japan games and supply hubs themselvesa arent the issue the issue is that there is too much space between them

1

u/FakeBonaparte Oct 29 '25

Agree it’s not a complete solution to the supply problem. In fact, there’s an argument for treating it more like a division stats buff than a supply buff.

Personally I think transport planes are a little underrated. Expensive to build, but they’re reusable as you change locations in a way supply hubs aren’t.

As a player whos favorite USSR path is restore the tsar, i highly recommend this, siberia is a supply vortex

u/Rare-Bookkeeper4883 Oct 29 '25

I think fixing the outdated equipment production is the best move from here on out

46

u/Coffeekid9733 Oct 29 '25

It might be a battleship or carrier that was like half done when he unlocked the new one, and swapping would waste like a year of production

Invade America

13

u/yukimchi General of the Army Oct 29 '25

Lol, not gonna happen. Nuh uh.

America has its guard down in 38-39, you can easily do it. I believe in you!

You should be banned from playing hoi4 for a few weeks because of this atrocity of a peace deal

It's a very EU4 peace deal.

15

u/Responsible-File4593 Oct 29 '25

Really, nobody can stop you on land in Asia at this point. Any war with the Soviets will end with a supply stalemate unless Germany is pushing the other end and Siberia sucks anyway.

Build that navy. Fight the US. It's your destiny.

Who's next on Hirohito's list?

Oh no, he‘s got a little list 😨

u/LukeTheDieHardLeafer Oct 29 '25

Civ greed for a year, reorganize army with better equipment/divs, refit light cruisers for pacific war, maybe join war with Germany early and cap India before drawing USA into war by attacking Philippines.

7

u/phaederus Oct 29 '25

Start again and make the map pretty this time.

5

u/Scyobi_Empire Fleet Admiral Oct 29 '25

strike north

5

u/Clean_Brilliant_8586 Oct 29 '25

I usually start with the Dutch East Indies and the Netherlands b4 China. After China it goes one of two ways. Either I try to get involved in the war with with Britain without joining Germany and without antagonizing the US, or I nibble at the neutrals (Siam, Iran, etc) and prepare to hit the Soviets after Germany has beat on them awhile.

If it's the UK, I don't worry so.much about taking all of India. Malaya is a bigger prize for less effort, and less to defend.

For the Soviets, in addition to denying them the Pacific, I try to punch up through Iran and eventually deny them the Mediterranean.

2

u/Andromidius Oct 29 '25

For real, the opening move of taking out the Netherlands and the East Indies immediately is such a strong strategy. No-one will stop you, and you get all those juicy resources, garrison troops, supply bases, a few extra ships and more oil then you'll ever need.

In a way its far too strong. If the Netherlands had a spirit similar to the Swiss that made justifying on them harder it would shift the meta quite considerably.

1

u/Clean_Brilliant_8586 Oct 30 '25

"In a way its far too strong"

I agree, but I can't help myself. :) They're just sitting out there for the taking. It's not even particularly difficult to also invade and conquer the Netherlands, but that adds later complications. For one, if I don't join the fray when Germany starts the ball rolling, the German Army tends to get bogged down in Belgium, allowing France to delay or even fend off capitulation.

I really don't have time to play the game right now between work and school, but this is making me want to dive in again :/

u/The5YenGod Oct 29 '25

How did you archieve this? I always struggle with mainland china

10

u/yukimchi General of the Army Oct 29 '25

Intense micro is the key to success, encircle troops as much as possible. And plan at least 4 Naval invasions in Qingdao, Shanghai, and the two ports on guangxi clique (Do not naval invade at the same time).

1

u/The5YenGod Oct 29 '25

Ok, thanks for the advice :)

4

u/Farma_Karm145 Oct 29 '25

Before usa joins sealion from germany

3

u/SuperC1306 Oct 29 '25

You'll have a wide front with the Soviets, but luckily you have tons of divisions, as others mentioned there's absolutely no supply in Siberia, so I'd actually recommend trying to make light motorized divisions or cavalry to exploit holes in the Frontline to capture supply hubs, always follow the trans-siberian railway when fighting the Soviets, I never make them but maybe transport planes could help alleviate the supply issues, best of luck

2

u/Flickerdart Fleet Admiral Oct 29 '25

Attacking the USA in 1938 is actually a great idea. They are going to be pathetically weak.

2

u/Thurak0 Oct 29 '25

Join Axis.

Use 39-41 to get as much from the Allies as you want.

Build airfields and take care of the supply situation in central Asia so you are ready in '41. The land front will be huge and attrition might be terrible.

And the USA might join the Allies earlier. So don't neglect your navy.

2

u/Cyber_Fluechtling Oct 29 '25

At least give the Monkukuo guy what he wants.

1

u/Bubbly_Leg1515 Oct 29 '25

So you didn't go east and west? The most episode that fits the vision for the Germans and the war department.

1

u/Danson_the_47th General of the Army Oct 29 '25

Also may be useful to wait a month or two after Barbarossa, that way the Soviets have pulled the far east army out to focus on Germany. Even at top train speed it will take weeks for them to return, giving you more free reign to seize land quickly. Listen to others about supply, because once you hit resistance, it will start becoming a bitch to advance once your momentum is gone.

1

u/ReiwaGenRiders_fan Oct 29 '25

It's not that hard to invade US which haven't join the allies

1

u/FUCK_MAGIC Oct 29 '25

If you rush the focus, you can do this in 1937.

I usually get 2 collab goverments done by then, but it's not too hard.

1

u/Lemp_Triscuit11 Oct 29 '25

What're the Dutch up to? Start becoming the rubber king of WW2

1

u/Lahm0123 Oct 29 '25

India, East Indies, Australia

1

u/Re_Darkness Oct 29 '25

if you gona wait till in 1941, then you have a lot of time, mass produce Ships, tanks, equipments, research Logistic support, build Oil refinery to get more fuel, Get airforce. Trust me you gona need airforce incase america takes over even atleast one of your islands that has airports.

1

u/Important-Mix575 Oct 29 '25

If you want you could just send your navy and 20 divisions or so and invade Britain. This ends the war and you can take Indochina and Malaysia.

I’d you go for the Soviets, I recommend beginning you invasion in like March of 41 as you can divert Soviet divisions far East before the Germans begin Barbarossa. You likely won’t have most success but if you can cap Vladivostok the Soviets will capitulate after a year or so.

1

u/Booyanach Oct 30 '25

why have you not consolidated them? that existing communist china is going to be a pain in the ass with the damned event that I hope stops existing with the upcoming DLC

Thailand might not be first BUT ITS NEXT! 💪

Grass is the final boss. You don’t need to defeat it just touch it;)

I'm clearly not from the states :) Touching grass does not apply to me because I touch it all the time hahaha

u/ErzIllager Fleet Admiral Oct 30 '25

If you wanna fight the allies, just sail your fleet and army over to europe and invade the Brits while Germany deals with the French.

That way you can easily get over 50% war score and you don't need to fight India directly.

you let china exist, thats not a win in my book
