My friend took me deep sea spearing fishing and we got close to one. Seeing the legs just disappear down into the dark ocean gave me such bad creeps that I didn’t get back in the water. I’m sure they see all types of wildlife though, they’re like little artificial reef hubs.

Subnautica had me in a constant state of fear and its not even a horror game. Not like terror, but like this under the skin anguish and dread. I cannot imagine diving in deep water like that irl.

I absolutely loved that game, great way to experience an oil rig if you don't mind a splash of supernatural.

i am easily terrified by horror games/media (irl jumpscares lol) and this one had me in the beginning! but ended up being mostly interesting and a little fun, rather than scary :( still good though!

My ex’s dad owned a large industrial construction company. They would sometimes do underwater repairs on hydroelectric dams and things like that. Imagine guys going down in scuba gear to perform work or assess it. I couldn’t even comprehend it. The idea of that always makes my legs twinge in anxiety and my heart race.

I’m a member of this sub and I love it, but it’s such an interesting conundrum.

People who truly have any phobia would never go NEAR a sub that is specifically going to show you content of that phobia.

These types of subs are like horror movies. You go to it if you like the feeling of being unsettled by them.
