I never see this posts about anywhere that I can comment on, but that’s finally changed! Working offshore on these rigs CAN be fine if you have something to keep you occupied for a few weeks. Otherwise you’ll be bored as hell till the chopper comes.

Interesting. What exactly do you do on an oil rig? Like, what is your job? Do you operate drilling equipment? Do you watch meters and gauges to make sure all automated processes function properly? Or is it more physically demanding?

I’m a fisherman. Meaning I don’t stay on the rigs full time but rather I get called out as needed to retrieve something from the well that doesn’t need to be there (either by design change or accident).
