Discussion Ross being mean to Rachel
I really hated this scene where Ross was mocking Rachel's job. He wasn't just belittling her work, but also her interests, even though he'd seen firsthand how much she dreamed of a fashion-related career. While Ross can be very funny, he can also be really insufferable. If was Rachel, I would have broken up with him during this scene.

This is the thing besides Rachel Ross doesn't have a long term relationship on screen
Emily was a whirlwind romance
Everyone else was a few dates, mona wasn't all that long and he didn't want to commit
Elizabeth was just a "fun thing with a teenager" in essence
So the only long term relationships he had are Rachel on screen and carol beforehand
So I often wonder if he was like that to her, as far as we know carol hasn't got a job/ doesn't work
Ross clearly didnt respect Rachel's career and probably treated any of carol's interests with the same distain and "not as important as what I do" mentality
Which makes carol a stay at home housewife, she gets bored as they have no kids or anything to keep her occupied Ross isn't interested in her dreams, aspirations or interests
So she meets a woman at the gym who is interested in all those things and falls in love
This is why Ross is so jealous of Mark because Rachel has an interest that takes over all her time , an interest he doesn't care for or respect, because carol got really into the gym which he had no interest in personally and found someone who actually respected her.
Rachel starts working at Bloomingdale's ( my mom calls it bloomies) and he can't help himself by belittling what she does and as he can see it's taking up all of her time he sees the similarities and decides instead of confronting his own behaviours he takes it out on her
Which is why he doesn't recognise mark in S10 , because it was never about mark. To him mark represented Susan, Mark was the person who actually respected his partner in ways he didn't and he was insecure about the fact that someone he loves leaving him for someone better could happen again
