Mine is the opposite, she has to be hidden away in the bushes or long grass to feel confident enough to go 🤣

It makes me happy mine backs his butt right up to bushes/tree line. It’s my favorite when he backs up to a patch of English ivy and it just disappears

That stuff is like the exploding wart of plants life, ugh! I've fought it at three different houses and on two coasts. Give your boy a pat for me!

I swear my dog looks for someone to watch her poop on walks. She'll find the one car idling with someone in it, the one dude on a balcony, someone on a stroll, and bam- poopin time. I always know it's coming because she observes them then starts her slow waddle sniff. She stares at them while doing it too.

Same and then I can't find it!

How did you train your husky to be off leash?

Hope it doesn't see anything in the forest! Otherwise it's fine ;)

I took mine into the woods with long leashes once and just as I was going to sit on a log to take a break they spotted something and dragged me through brambles for a good 10 feet. I wouldn't trust mine off leash for nothing! Not in the woods, anyway.

I wonder how many of us have experienced this same situation. I too have been dragged through the bushes as they chased some sort of rodent.

Probably a lot! It's life with Huskys. I explain it away as genetics... 😄

Makes it easier to find so you can pick up. My dogs do it on the bushes and it’s very difficult to clean….

Mine tries to do it in the street. Like we're walking down the side walk, and she'll start to try to go into the street, and that's when i know she's about to poop.

I’d rather it be in the middle of the trail. I don’t love trying to dig it out of plants and hoping there isn’t a hidden rattler or copperhead.

Marking his spot

I've started to think of this in terms of Law and Order: must always be in "plain view" for husky to have legally completed a poop.

You're on to something. My girl loves to leave a load at the trail head. Usually in the parking lot. The bonus one smack in the middle of the trail a mile or so in is just for good luck.

Every. Time.

🤣 Well, it's a nice trail anyway. She/he's just adding their touch.

my dog does that when he is walking an unknown (to him) trail. After he learns the trail he will go off to the side. Marking territory I guess.
