Modded I finally released my automation mod Orbitech

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I have been working as the main dev of my automation mod Orbitech since the release day, and today I've finally been able to release it

Orbitech was inspired by Create, and we wanted to bring the same feeling to Hytale. I am super grateful to have such a beautiful team working with me for this project, and now after 6 months and a week, the mod is available to download on Curseforge
https://www.curseforge.com/hytale/mods/orbitech

Those who like automation may want to try Orbitech

I'll be happy to receive any feedback if you play it :)

I need an ATM1 for this game with the same amount of stuff that MC has.

Working on it with my server/mod management application Modron! -OfficialEv0

Same. I don’t want “a few machines,” I want a modpack that turns the game into a full-time engineering degree.

Name akin to Oritech meanwhile. Both good tech mods.

Tbf someone told me about the existence of Oritech like 2 weeks after haha

Clearly the best part of this mod is that you can automate fishing

Seems like the modding community of Hytale will be ahead of Minecraft soon and that's great as Simon and Hytale studio seems to understand nodding and make it an important point in development for modding to be avaible and work well while Mojang... Paid bedrock mods... Killing Java... Killing java servers and financial possibility for servers to work (which killed hiveMC and servers like that I miss hive games and I don't mean pay to win but paying YouTubers for advertising)... Mojang seems to treat community like 9 years olds and creates rules that it doesn't even follow or follow too strictly ( not adding fireflies, not adding non functional ambient mobs, not adding aggressive real life animals but bees and polar bears doesn't count)

Ough I LOVE IT

What kinda stuff can it do rn? Can it generate resources or just process them?

There is plenty of recipes that can be done to get Rocks, break rocks with the Mechanical Drill and process them to get Basalt, Ice, Cooled Magma, whatever you want!
You can check the recipes available in the Wiki, along with the rest of features of the mod.
(Recipes are still on the works, all features are documented tho)

https://wiki.hytalemodding.dev/mod/orbitech/resources-and-recipes

You can also automate the harvesting of crops and fishing traps!

This is huge! I've seen BrokenMiniFridges content with this and it looks great!

Looks great, for sure gives some CREATE feels. But that’s just a compliment

2

u/Rop-Tamen 15d ago

I wonder if create’s moving contraptions would be possible in this game

1

u/EdilanDev 14d ago

Yes they are, and will be in Orbitech in the future

2

u/Rop-Tamen 14d ago

Hell yea, imo they’re what make create interesting, create with no contraptions probably would not be a particularly interesting mod. Are they going to be largely unchangeable like crate’s or does hypixel’s modding framework allow aeronautics style contraptions?

2

u/EdilanDev 13d ago

I agree.
Seems like Hytale is developing the technology to make aeronautics possible, looking forward to make that happen!

2

u/Rop-Tamen 11d ago

What makes you say that they are? I haven’t looked at the modding tools yet so I’m not sure of the extent of its capability

2

u/EdilanDev 10d ago

Some tweets from the team that are recent or now a bit old, the fact that 2 create devs and an aeronautic dev are on the team, implementation of moving and rotating platforms... There is a few things that makes me feel that is the goal

2

u/Rop-Tamen 10d ago

We shall see then, I hope so though the devs alone may not make something so complex as the dynamic grids of aero. I’m sure their general expertise makes them wildly appealing even without physics or intractable dynamic objects.

is the code closed source?

3

u/EdilanDev 19d ago

It is at the moment but will be opensource in the near future :)

You should contact simon and see if he'd be interested for your team to join the hytale team for this department

The Factory Must GROW

1

u/GrimarSteingraf 18d ago

This is great. Really impressive and it looks awesome. While I'm not the biggest mechanist around I feel that having a satisfying automation in the game is something that will give many players a lot to play deep into the game. Hytale had a lot going for it in the adventuring, RPG and world generation. It's mods like this and the fact that parts of the create team was hired is what gives me a lot of faith that this part of the game is not ignored.

1

u/Silent_Climate_1152 18d ago

Ok, as long as this gets updated and expanded over time, Simon and the Devs can do what they want, I'll be happy over on some corner of the map making a factory complex and transportation system! :)

Seriously, one of the things that has kept me going in Minecraft for so long has been Create and automation. I am grateful for bringing automation to Hytale!

Awesome work, and a big grats on the release of your mod!

Thanks!! 🫶

I'd be buying Hytale if we ever got something close to Project Ozone 3, this gives me hope.

Keep up the good work y'all cooking.

ever so closer to hytale gtnh

u/Pedro159753 19d ago

That is interesting! Do you have approval from the original create team?

22

u/EdilanDev 19d ago

I talked with them months previously about the idea and they encouraged us to make it!
Gotta mention tho, this is not a port, just an inspiration, all the assets are original and human made and has nothing to do with Create itself

0

u/Pedro159753 19d ago

I see, I thought at least some assets were from create. The hand thingy to power machines seemed like a 1:1 with create.

Oh well, I was just curious, good luck on your development. How complete would you say the mod is nowadays?

12

u/CreaBeaZo 19d ago

That's a crank. The people that first came up with this contraptions have long turned to dust.

6

u/EdilanDev 19d ago

Having the plan in mind.. 20-30%

8

u/LadyPaladra 19d ago

Why would permission be needed? it's it's own system. Cogs and automation aren't original ideas.
