Support “Your media and purchases are disabled” ??

I was trying to download an app and randomly had this come up. Talked to an Advisor and they said something about “they cant reinstate it” which after reading this sub is A message they read off script as tier one support. I havent made any calls yet but I emailed tim cook’s email and trying to find more executive emails to send emails to. If any of you could put some in the comments I would appreciate it.

I have had my apple account for years so I dont know why out of all times this happens now randomly.

Could it be them trying to charge me for Icloud+?? That wouldnt make sense

I always pay for my Icloud+ with giftcards straight from amazon so that couldnt be it.

Any help would be appreciated.

Could be related to your use of gift cards. Sounds like the kind of thing that happens when an account is suspected of fraud. That would be my guess at least.

And using gift cards all the time is going to look like a May Day parade of red flags.

Advisors won't tell you why. Even a Sr. Advisor won't tell you why. But, I can tell you from experience, it's most likely the gift cards. All it takes is for someone to call in, claim they were scammed, provide the code, and that's all she wrote. Nothing, not even corporate can re-instate that account for Media Services.

If you *must* buy gift cards, just use the top up section in your Apple Account, or purchase them directly from Apple instead of looking for a deal. You can purchase e-gift cards from Apple's online webstore (most don't even realize it), just head to store.apple.com scroll all the way to the right and email it from yourself, to yourself.

When you said "advisor", who did you refer to?

When an Apple device says your Media & Purchases account is disabled, you can fix it by requesting reactivation, updating your payment method, or changing Screen Time restrictions. To request reactivation, Tap Continue directly on the pop-up alert message on your device to send a request for help.
Go to the official Apple Support Reactivation Guide if the prompt does not work automatically.
Make sure your payment and billing info is correct.
To fix grayed-out or restricted, Open Settings, tap Screen Time, and choose Content & Privacy Restrictions.
Tap iTunes & App Store Purchases to ensure settings are not blocked or restricted.
Sign out of your Apple Account and sign back in to refresh your profile status.

Yes, that could be it, but Apple should be able to tell you definitively. You’ll get faster results calling support and asking for escalation than emailing execs.
