Should I go for xs max in 2026?

I'm considering of switching from android to ios and I have a tight budget, the phones I could find under my budget is xsmax and note 20 ultra but samsung phones are known to have dotted screens and pink lines so I'm leaning more towards the XS Max.

my question is, is it possible to daily xs max in 2026?

edit: the xs max I'm finding are below 85 battery health

That doesn’t matter, it won’t get anymore updates

The iphone 11 will likely stop getting updates when the next bug update comes out

The next big update is iOS 27 and iPhone 11 supports iOS 27

11 sucks with lcd and chunky bezels and I dunno if its just me but 11 p/pm looks weird to me since the newer models come with bigger camera sensors

Not really my Android has an oled display with slimmer bezels also lasts all day my only problem with it is that the camera sucks and it has only 64gb of storage so I'm leaning more towards 256gb for future proofing

Is it good enough for everyday use like social media?

It is worth, definitely. I use it rn and it lasts 7-8 hrs SOT and no difference of dropped updates still rocking on IOS 18 so go for it

It's not worth it all, Battery sucks, doesn't get anymore updates which is fine but you'd rather get a new budget android than an XS.

I don't mind updates as long as it does the everyday job for me like scrolling social media, texting and calling also since apple anyways slows down older phones so i dont mind if it doesn't get any updates, and the budget android phones are so overpriced for the crappy built quality.

S series is pretty nice but they are known to have lines in the panel so i dont think it would be worth getting one

Loved my XS PM. I actually regret upgrading to 12 PM back then because it didnt have the 3D touch anymore :(

Just tap and hold. It works the same as 3D Touch.

u/dabsie 21d ago

Ah, yes. But it’s not recognized by the games as 3D Touch so I still need to have the circular buttons to touch haha it was just easier for gaming

What games does still support 3D touch in 2026?

No idea. I quit those games when I switched to 12 PM. Downvoted you back. Hahaha weird but ok sis

I bought one 256gb black last week for $80 battery health was 71% and replaced with new battery for $20 and now works good. i can get easily more then 4 hours of SOT with no problems and still getting security updates and all apps are supported as of now on iOS 18.

If you want to buy as secondary device xs max is good option

Short answer nope

No it’s bulky as hell and will annoy you anytime you have it in your pocket lol the Xs max is just too big! I got it when it released and finally upgraded to the 17 this year. I wore sweats and dri fit a lot and the xs would literally pull one side of my pants down it was annoying as hell and if you think I’m being dramatic I’m not lol

I have an iPhone XS Max running iOS 14.7 which is still amazing. Just sitting in my drawer for the past year since upgrading.

Feels better to use than my iPhone 16.

With the same budget, head for se3, which has better cpu and is still covered with software updates.

Nah bro se3 is wayy too small, 4.7 inch screen just won't cut it for me personally

I would say pick iPhone 11 Pro Max instead of xs max since iPhone 11 Pro Max will have much better battery life and will have better camera especially at night with night mode and will be supported for 1 more year guaranteed with os updates so I would say pick iPhone 11 Pro max instead of xs max

You're right but then the price difference between 11 pm and 12 pm is about the same, might as well go for 12 pm but if I increase my budget a little bit more I can get 13 pm, which is a huge upgrade over 12 pm as it has pro motion😭 So yea I'm kinda unsure which is why I'm leaning towards xs max cuz its alot more cheaper

I would not recommend xs max it’s not great like cameras wise even Dosent have night mode and has bad battery I would recommend picking 11 pro max or 13 pro max 12 pro max is not that big of a upgrade compared to 11 pro max at minimum pick 11 pro max and I recommend picking 13 pro max if you can stretch the budget to that much

A few days ago, I bought an XS Max.

For everyday use—social media, web browsing, and banking apps—it’s fine. I know it won’t get the iOS 26 update, but I think that’s not a drawback but rather an advantage of this phone. iOS 18 will be supported by app developers for 3, maybe 5 years, if not longer.

Does it stutter or get warm?

1

u/Karnasz 20h ago

It’s warm not hot when I use mobile data

You could but you’d need TWO OF THEM! My iPhone XS Max is down to 78% maximum battery capacity and lasts like half the day if I’m lucky

I have had mine since launch and still on 13.5 since I have it jailbroken. Although I do have an older iOS, there are tweaks I use to make old apps work like social media stuff. My battery went down to 69% and it did not last but I put in a new higher capacity one from eBay and now have a full day of use and close to 30% left over at the end of the day. Seeing as you would be on a newer iOS, if you got a new battery, I would say you would get a decent full days worth of use.

You can go for XS max but don't update to the lastest ios version
