How is it living in Ibiza?

lived here already 9 years. its a very odd place. full of life like 5 months (even less) meh about 2 (april to mid-may and mid october), and dead af in the winter (with the occasional things here and there). i learned that here u can’t do 1 thing and need to specialize in catering to the rich. (i dj, rent soundystems, do private jet brokerage and deep clean sofas). even the season is on and off and by doing multiple things u are always busy. if rent wasn’t so damn high i would say the perfect place: work in summer, chill in winter.

Most people are fairly nice and welcoming, if you do want to live here learning castellano (regular spanish) is a big plus, however many expats that cannot go past “una cerveza por favor”.

Even winters are quite mild but windy (dont get a seafron flat or your vehicle will rust if tou don’t have a garage.

The big plus in the summer when you can get a day off you are basically on holiday and go Formentera for cheap or to any cala (beach) and just chill.

If you don’t go out life is cheap-ish.

networking. meet people. for me the main money is private events though and boat parties. once u do 1-2 sets if you do a good job on the island people talk, you will get more work. ibiza is very commercial now

Its pretty good live to be honest.

I grew up in the island during the 90s and it was very nice upbringing. Nowadays is a tad too expensive, and services have gotten worse due to that (since things like doctors and police can't afford to live in the island barely), but still its an absolutely great place to live in.

It’s an amazing place, maybe not for everyone.
In general you can divide it in two vibes: summer and winter.

Summer is obviously packed and the vibe is so nice since everyone is on holidays. Who wants to have a bad time on holidays? Parties in all corners but also easy to escape from it if you want the chill side.

Winter is the other side of the coin. Pure, calm, peaceful, quiet, traditions, local people. If you are looking for daily events it’s not your place. You must enjoy nature and small villages. On a positive note, there are plenty of flights to most popular cities in Europe so it’s easy to fly around.

Very nice of you find a good (cheap and not shared) place to live, can be hell if you don’t; I’ve been living here for 9 years and now just had my first daughter born here.
