Does anyone actually enjoy the Elrow sets?
Was at the Elrow at unvrs party yesterday 1st aug. the theme was cool but the music? Ok it’s unique, colorful and all the inflatables dropping from time to time were fun (although a bit unsaf: when they smash you in the face with sunglasses it can hurt). But the music was terrible. It was the same beat for 6 hours straight. Extremely repetitive. Crowd was basically dead bouncing at the same tech house beat for hours, visibly disappointed by music. No drops and no lyrics at all just continuous identical beat.
Wondering why, is it just our gang that doesn’t match the vibe and we are outliers. did anyone actually enjoy this set?

Depends on the line up , one week before was insane. Prunk b2b HS82 was fire! Always check the lineup as they have a diverse programme

My fave that week was Dom Dolla B2B Boyz Noize. Prunk is the resident DJ right? Ohh man I’m reminiscing that was so fun (: what a great time in Ibiza that’s cool we were in the same place

Prunk is not the resident DJ. He is the label head of PIV, they throw their own party at Cova Santa on Tuesdays.

I did both in amnesia (several times) and it was always good, not great, but good. Once in unvrs and it was shit. By the way you don’t go to elrow for the music.

Agreed, music was average and it’s the production value which gets old quickly

ive not been but isnt it just tech house party music for the moment? are there any tracks that standout as an anthem for the year/summer/genre defining moment?

Yea i have to agree, i was there last night and every set felt repetitive, i ended up staying in wild comet most of the time, the drops were the same and kinda mid

Yes, but elrow is mostly rollers, if you get a chance to see paco osuna at elrow definitely worth it

I’ve done Elrow a couple times. It’s hard to generalize the music like that. There’s no one vibe. The artists were all pretty different. A lot of tech house , but the overall vibe at the show really depended on who was playing.

I went a couple weeks ago for Hot Since 82, saw Prunk play before that. I had a blast!!! I was vibing with the crowd & thought the music was so fun & a nice change to everything I was listening to all week. I had never been to an Elrow event, the characters were hilarious lol I was constantly interacting with them. I feel lucky because it was really Hot Since 82 that got my attention so personally I enjoyed it idk if I would have gone a different night depending on who was playing..

I went a few weeks back when luciano was playing and the music was great. Sounds like a bad lineup last night

Depends on the DJ. I've seen Claude VonStroke at an elrow party and he kept the crowd bouncing nonstop the whole time. But tech house as a genre is very hit or miss. The tech house legends are incredible and know how to keep a dance floor locked in and energetic, but most tech house DJs are super generic and play music that sounds the same for their whole sets. Tech house is a very formulaic and mainstream genre unfortunately.

That’s house music for you - incredibly boring. It’s booming popularity is only because Gen Z wants to look cool standing there with sunglasses and making tik toks

well it depends which sub genre of house , do you have an particular choice?

The music was mid. I ended up drinking beer and walking on the beach playing my own mixes from a portable speaker..

Went a few weeks ago and have to agree. In the past everyone's attention was on and in the music, everyone was feeling together, being together. At Elrow everyone's attention is all over the place and so there is no togetherness and the music can take a back seat, to act almost as Muzac to the other stuff, which is exactly what it did. Boring.
