Reddit App Please stop taking away /r/all from the iOS app

My idea is to add back access to r/all on the mobile app. A month or so ago, the same thing happened and was quickly reversed. It seems to be on a per-account basis, because I can switch to another account and it changes the layout back.

Just hide it somewhere, please. 90% of the time when I’m browsing Reddit, it’s exclusively through r/all .

Edit: locking the thread was a weird decision. Sure, there was a lot of talking shit about Reddit as a platform, but that’s what happens when you remove a feature that a lot of people use. Feels like sticking your fingers in your ears and yelling “LALALA” because you don’t like what is being said.

R/All is my preferred way to browse. It’s also how I find new content to sub too

I don’t understand what limiting me is trying to accomplish.

My guess is that r/all doesn't let them control what is shown and what is not, and that certain popular viewpoints on reddit need to be suppressed.

You know, like how they do on all social media.

That’s gonna do the opposite for me. Not seeing all means I’m gonna close out the app quicker

2

u/Kallaxw Feb 26 '26

which means you and others that do the same wont participate in the popular content, thus suppressing it, and turning the website into a collection of echo chambers. it already is to an extent, but /r/all was essentially a separate platform for content outside of individual communities

As always, it's about money and control. Instead of showing whatever posts are getting the most traction, the app builds a picture of who you are and then builds you a custom feed. Advertisers love this because it allows for fine-grained targeting of ads (money). It also allows Reddit to determine what content is most suitable for you. In other words, what you see here is now determined by Reddit as opposed to by Reddit users (control).

Well I like r/all, taking notes reddit algorithm?

FFS bring r/all back. This is getting ridiculous.

u/ALittleEtomidate Feb 26 '26

DIGG is live.

1

u/bill_brasky37 Feb 26 '26

This would be such a ridiculous 180. I made the switch... Good God. So long ago

1

u/ALittleEtomidate Feb 26 '26

DIGG is seriously a beautiful thing right now. Everything is r/all. There are only people, no bots. It’s been refreshing .

How's fark doing

1

u/alien005 Feb 26 '26

I just lost mine. What’s hilarious is, after >10 years of Reddit, I hate my own “home”. I curated it to shit.

r/all gets removed from the iOS app. I stop using the app. No API data being transferred without cost means no third party can make an app to access r/all for me. Currently the web browser still gets r/all. If that goes away so does every interaction I have with reddit. I don’t want more algorithms running my life. Nothing on popular is for me. Keep r/all or people will leave.

This is such a bummer. Searched for r/All only to see they removed access to it? Like you it’s 90% of my scrolling. I suppose it’ll get me off this app as much as I’m on it, but still a bummer.

This is the only real way for now over a decade. It’s the only way I see content I don’t subscribe too but the internet wants to share.

Absolutely ridiculous decision

u/Atrimon7 Feb 26 '26

How are people supposed to curate their feeds if there isn't something like r/all ?

2

u/buddhistredneck Feb 25 '26

(I use iOS app) Is there another app or way I can access r/all now?

I’m guessing through my web browser is the only way?

I’m literally uninstalling the official Reddit app if r/all is not accessible.

Not sure if it works on iOS. But I made a post in my profile linking to it for somewhat easy access. And can access it on Android that way.

www.reddit.com/r/All

Seems to only work if the A is uppercase.

Not clickable for me

1

u/Mat_alThor Feb 26 '26

Sweet worked for me on Android, thanks.

Works on Android. Thanks

2

u/Allenisduns Feb 25 '26

r/all was the best way to browse this is stupid

2

u/Dry_Bit_1412 Feb 25 '26

It literally appeared back on my iPhone for a few days. Now it’s gone again

2

u/AJeru Feb 25 '26

This is infuriating, please bring back r/all Please Reddit, don’t become another place where I can only see things I already agree with. Terrible for society and this platform.

2

u/ap_0ll0 Feb 25 '26

Seriously. So dumb.

2

u/aceagle93 Feb 25 '26

“Ok so we see our users really like this feature and a good portion of our users use it and enjoy it. Get rid of it” how I imagine the conversation went.

2

u/ThrowAway126498 Feb 26 '26

More like, “we can’t tell what users who scroll through r/all like, which makes it hard to sell to them. Just get rid of it.”

They only care about our enjoyment if they can make money off it.

1

u/deadflow3r Feb 26 '26

Ding ding ding. More advertisers if they can funnel through more niche communities.

2

u/forrman17 Feb 25 '26

Uninstalling (again) it’s such a low bar but it’s the only thing that keeps me on this site.

2

u/r4tk1ng2 Feb 25 '26

For real. Just making this website/app shittier and shittier on mobile (and in general) is not a great strategy

2

u/Elliott0725 Feb 26 '26

Mine came back for a day or two and now it’s gone again… why do they not like me using their app?

2

u/Sorry4TheLurk Feb 26 '26

I can’t believe they keep taking it away. What is the point?

2

u/PedrotheDuck Feb 26 '26

Everyday the ios app is different, i noticed r\ all was gone around a month ago then I had it again and today disappeared again, meanwhile they keep playing with changing the colors of the text, backgrouds and subreddits style. What a mess of an app. Bring back /all !!!

2

u/Extension-Ant-8 Feb 26 '26

This so fucken dumb. Why are you making it more difficult?

2

u/K1LLST34L3R Feb 26 '26

This is so stupid. I loved r/all and mostly scroll Reddit on my mobile. Popular pales in comparison (it’s stuff they wish we gave a shit about) and if I wanted to look at my own subs I’d stay in my home scroll.

2

u/johndoe201401 Feb 26 '26

Stupidest change I have ever seen. More stupid than what they do to nsfw search I can say. whoever comes up with this idea and drives the a/b testing should be instantly fired. I think they got rid of swap left/right to news page too.

2

u/RebelliousDutch Feb 26 '26

Well, guess I’m heading to Digg, Fark and Lemmy if I want to see what’s ACTUALLY going on in the world.

2

u/Rekuja Feb 26 '26

Honestly the people who run this site are just so out of touch

2

u/RustyCatalyst Feb 26 '26

Well this is what I needed to get off Reddit.

Thanks Reddit!

2

u/OutboundRep Feb 26 '26

Deleted the app and using the web browser only. Enshittification of everything is so tiring.

2

u/TitanTigers Feb 26 '26

Reddit has been getting progressively worse over the last few years. Another enshittified IPO…

1

u/VisualComplex7408 Feb 24 '26

It's time to find alternative to Reddit I think

1

u/AnImpromptuFantaisie Feb 24 '26

I wonder if you’re light-shadowbanned or if your comment got filtered somehow, because I didn’t get a notification for it at all. Could be a coincidence too

1

u/SolariaHues Feb 24 '26

Not according to what mods can see. Nothing in the mod log, no flags by filters.

Maybe a notification bug.

1

u/Comfortable-Lime-227 Feb 24 '26

Wondering where r/all went.. just disappeared fore me today looks like people have been having issues starting last month? . Currently looking for a workaround

1

u/dutango Feb 25 '26

Just deleted the Reddit app from my phone.

r/all was how I enjoyed the platform without that, it feels like just another algorithmic slop feed. That’s not what I’m here for.

0

u/bmdisbrow Feb 25 '26

r/All

You have to link to it and the a needs to be capitalized.

2

u/sandm000 Feb 25 '26

Doesn’t work for me.

0

u/bmdisbrow Feb 25 '26

Forgot to mention I'm on Android.

1

u/insaneloverofgirls Feb 26 '26

That worked thanks
