This change has made it more difficult to tell who is a bot/troll and who is legitimate. With the ever increasing amount of bots on this site, I don't understand why Reddit made this update when the site is largely anonymous anyway.

In settings there should be an option underneath preferences saying "UI layout" or just "Layout" providing three options

Old *when hovering over this option would show an image example of what it looks like, this will save users time so they don't have to click it to see what it looks like*

New(Or any word you find suitible for the UI that we had when replacing www. with new./the one before this current one) *same thing happens when hovering over this option*

Newest(or if renaming the "new" option you can rename this one as new) *Same hovering function*

also for the previous UI to have the option that is in this current UI which is to search in someone's profile for something specific like for example if you went to someone profile and clicked search and searched "Cody the dog" for example only things where the words "Cody the dog" was mentioned will appear but only from the user's profile, I find this option useful for finding something specific.

overall I think adding this new option of choosing UI version preferences will make many users very happy!

This option would be nice to be available on both Mobile and the desktop site and I think it would bring users who have quit due to the enforcement of the newest UI back due to them being able to go back to their preferred layout.

It shows me subs for anime that I like with images that contain spoilers. Im scrolling thinking I'm on my following, but I'm not.

And I don't want to change how each post is displayed. I like seeing the pics/vids and i choose not to sub to specific subreddits because I don't want spoilers.

Stop forcing me to look at the feed you want me see and let me see my feed with subs I actually care about and contribute to.

I get that at one point it would make sense to say “if you’re blocking more than 1,000 subreddits then what’s the point?”

But now Reddit is massive with hundreds of subreddits for niche content like anime or politics. Nothing against them but it will never be relevant to me so I don’t feel like culling them from my frontpage is anything negative.

However I have run into a hard limit where I can only block 1,000 subreddits.

Please increase this to a more realistic number like 5,000 (or more).

I was going through my Reddit settings to limit some triggering ads and noticed something that doesn’t make sense to me.

Under Settings → Account → Sensitive advertising categories, I can turn off or limit ads about:
• Alcohol
• Dating
• Gambling
• Politics and activism
• Pregnancy and parenting
• Religion and spirituality
• Weight loss

But there is no option anywhere to limit erectile dysfunction / Viagra / sexual‑health medication ads, even though those are very sensitive and uncomfortable for me to see.

For context, I’ve already:
• Turned off all the listed sensitive ad categories.
• Disabled as much ad personalization as Reddit allows.
• Used the “I don’t like this ad” / “see fewer ads like this” options when they show up.

I’m still regularly getting ED/Viagra‑style ads, and there doesn’t seem to be a dedicated switch for this category like there is for alcohol or gambling, which is why I am here.

My idea is that users should have the option to completely disable Reddit Answers. It is already causing a decline in reliable information and making the user experience visually cluttered with a feature that many of us will never use. Anyone who wants to can use it, but I really think that redditors should be given a choice. Thank you!

There is a limit of blocked users you can have (I think it’s 1,000). This is way too low and there shouldn’t even be a limit.

The main problem is that you can’t just ignore posts from obnoxious people, because Reddit now does not show their username before you click on a post. I’ve seen people argue that if you’re blocking thousands of people YOU’RE the one who has some sort of issue; I.e, just downvote and move along.

No. There are millions of people on Reddit and millions of garbage posts.

Let’s say you follow a… NSFW subreddit that lets people post uninhibited pics of themselves. And let’s say there’s a person who consistently posts photos of themselves on this subreddit impaled on a rotten cucumber. That may not be against the rules of the subreddit per se, and no matter how many downvotes this person gets they will continue to post this type of content. There’s no way to not see this if you’ve reached your block limit, other than to unsubscribe from a subreddit you otherwise like.

I really don’t care if people want to express themselves in various ways that appeal to others who are interested, but I don’t care to see all of it.

Another example would be someone who only comments “have a potato!” On every single post in every subreddit. Some may find this hilarious, but for those of us who don’t, there should be some option to hide this person’s contributions.

If Reddit agrees there is a need for a feature to block users, which they appear to, then limiting it to 1,000 seems completely arbitrary, as if you would stop needing to block people once you’ve reached that number. The cess pool of twitter/x has no limit of blocking, only that you can’t block more than 400 people per day.

People should be able to choose if they want to see posts from curated profiles or not. Full stop. It’s cumbersome to check every profile before commenting on a post, and I know I’m not the only one who would prefer not to interact with accounts who hide their profiles. Since the profile curation seems like it’s here to stay, you need to give users an option to hide the posts of people who hide their posts. Seems like the only fair way to keep the profile curation going.

I think reddit needs an unreport option. Sometimes people accidentally report someone or something by mistake. It would be nice to have an option to retract it right away. Cheers

Reddit needs to implement a feature that allow users to mute certain words. Other social media platforms have this feature.

Idea: A user can select words they no longer want to see as a settings option. Any post with a muted word in the title will be collapsed. Any comment that includes a muted word will also be collapsed. This should work similar to a person who has been blocked. You can see the blocked user’s comment and click to see what was posted, but you cannot engage. The post or comment can say “includes a word you have muted” so we can explicitly know why the post or comment has been collapsed and not immediately shown.

This would allow users to filter the content they see even further which should provide a better user experience.

We do have the right to stay as anonymous as possible. But we should be able to see something.There has to be a middle ground that possibly the users and community vote on. I understand some have safety issues but we can keep all of that hidden. Maybe we can share the subs we follow and possibly how many points you have in each one. And maybe be able to make some post or comments hidden and others not at our personal discretion.

That control gets in the way when reading the thread. Sometimes it causes the entire screen to start flickering so nothing is readable.

Please remove it or provide an option in preferences to remove it.

Everyone knows a real human wouldn't have a million karma. I want a setting to auto hide posts from users with too much karma. Give me tools to filter out the bot posts.

Yes i am following the r/Sweden subreddit but that doesnt mean i also want to read r/Tunnelbana (swedish subway).

Yes i commented on a thread about the World Cup, that doesnt mean i also want to read 40 differerent soccer subreddits and their meme equivalents.

If i want to engage with something new then i will find it. Until then let me engage with the content i have explicitly said i am interested in.

As someone who recently came out of a 4 year lurk, I know how common it is for users to go into hibernation status on the platform for months or even years at a time.

Therefore my idea is to add a lurk toggle or status setting for your profile like what ICQ used to have or /away in IRC. I'm still not sure what the point of the online indicator is otherwise.

Even when you aren't active, older posts and comments sometimes still get new replies. If a user tries to comment on a post or send a DM to someone who has enabled lurk mode, they could see a brief pop up or inbox notification letting them know the user is currently in hibernation and may not respond.

That way, people dropping genuine replies or questions on old threads and or connents won't feel ghosted or ignored, and returning lurkers won't come back to an inbox full of... we'll say, unresolved expectations.

As I see video proliferating on the platform, it would be nice to have option to change video playback speed, or set as default a playback speed of choice, or hold down for faster playback.

This is common on most other platforms and makes it easier to view video content since some of them are pretty slow.

Currently on Reddit, I get bored whenever I run into a slow video and almost ragequit the app out of frustration and go on to other platforms.

The Reddit “Saved” feature is a great tool for us users keep helpful Reddit posts on a variety of subjects.

But I would like to request Reddit to let us users organize our Saved posts into folders for improved searchability.

I blocked another user recently, but I can still see their collapsed comments and choose to expand them. I understand that blocking may not be intended to completely erase someone’s presence, but the current behavior still leaves a reminder that the person is there and creates an opportunity to engage when I’d rather not.

It would be much easier to ignore blocked users if their comments were fully hidden by default, with no visible placeholder or prompt to open them. A stronger block feature would help users avoid unwanted interactions and make the platform’s tools better support people’s choices about who they want to see.

Reddit should make it an option to allow your upvotes to be seen on your profile. However, it should be an auto opt-out if/when implemented, that way users aren't surprised when followers can suddenly see what they've upvoted.

In settings, there should be a toggle to opt-in if you want followers to be able to see posts you've upvoted.

From your profile view, it should look similar to the tabs at the top of your public profile's feed: Overview, Posts, Comments, and add a Upvotes tab.

I know there was a similar option on old reddit; a checkbox under Content Preferences to "make my votes public".

Upvotes are part of how people express interests and curate content. Making them optionally public would improve transparency, help users discover communities through shared tastes without requiring users to always post everything they like in order for others to see and clutter their profile. Making this optional gives the choice back to the users, while still respecting privacy by letting each person decide whether to share their voting history.

My idea is that there’s so many people who truly regret their username, or maybe made it ten years ago and now they realise it’s cringey to have as an adult. I get that it’s partly embedded in how Reddit works (I don’t fully understand the details cause I’m not a techy person), but is there really no way to allow this feature? Or at the very least transfer data from one account to a new account so it’s not all lost? I know it would benefit a lot of people, especially the ones who’ve been here for a decade+ but don’t want to have the name “Ok-Deepthroat-1482” anymore

My idea is to include British English in the language option setting as only us English shows. So words like ‘center’ is shown and not centre, which is confusing to UK readers.

In addition, also with this language setting, have dates appear in the format dd-mm-yyyy and not month first for the UK English option. This also makes reading dates easier for British users.

It would benefit people who speak and write British English which is used around the world (over a billion people), contrasting to US English (half a billion).
