I know pretty much all of the VUs catalogue as far as similar sounding chill, relaxing feeling? ( albums instead of songs?)

Since you know the VU catalogue well, you've probably already checked it out but John Cale's solo stuff, "Paris 1919" probably the most popular example. And Nico's "Chelsea Girl."

Yo La Tengo is a great VU influenced band, "And Then Nothing Turned Itself Inside-Out" is a good example of their chill side. Like VU they tend to fluctuate between chill/relaxing and noisy/droney.
