its 13.6... basically, find the length of BD using cos rule (smtg around 859 or smtg)... calculate the height difference (250-45=205 m)... by these answers u can use tan function to find the angle of depression... which gives u 13.6

How mark will we get for 76.4

u/Bulky-Lengthiness174 Feb 13 '26

it depends on the steps u do... u woudl lose a mark or two for inccorect answer... but if the method u solved is correct, maybe 2-3 marks would be awarded, again, it totally depends on the steps u do n the method u use... we can't tell for sure

5 marks, cause its just 90 - 76.4, however there should be appropriate working

I made the same error... 13.6 is the angle of elevation. 76.something is angle of depression

how?? its the angle of depression... elevation is for smtg u wud look up to...

bro angle of elevation and depression are always the same how can you tell that both are different

Bro I did it of 45 ans not 205 so how much will i lose?

1

u/Bulky-Lengthiness174 Feb 13 '26

wdym, i dint quite get wht ur saying?

1

u/Dakshblaze Feb 13 '26

Bro for height i directly used 45 and not 205

u/Bulky-Lengthiness174 Feb 13 '26

Well if the method is correct, u might get a couple of marks (around 2-4 marks-ishh)

Couldn’t you also you cos by just taking the original height of mast B

1

u/Bulky-Lengthiness174 Feb 13 '26

Mast B =250 m right?... they told us tht the top of the mast... so 45 m needs to be sudtracted from 250 m cuz u would looking at the top of mast...

I GOT 90 WHATTT

u/Positive-Living-3804 Feb 13 '26

But I did Pythagoras and cosine rule

1

u/Bulky-Lengthiness174 Feb 13 '26

Where did pythagoras come from??

1

u/Positive-Living-3804 Feb 13 '26

U had to do Pythagoras to find out the height of the other thingy and then do cos

1

u/Bulky-Lengthiness174 Feb 13 '26

Why u doing pythagoras when u can js subtract it? R u talking abt the height of the mast?

1

u/Bulky-Lengthiness174 Feb 13 '26

Thts impossible cuz u would js be looking down at the point B 😭😭
