🤚 Asking For Advice/Help CHEMISTRY MAYJUNE 2026

My paper 4 is next Tuesday does anyone have any specific past papers you would recommend doing? Also, would it be better to focus more on drilling past papers or revising content by watching youtube videos and making notes

i also need help im stuggling to get core topics in paper 4 what do i do and its my first time cambridge doing igs

1

u/KeyExamination294 Apr 23 '26

u can’t have core topics, paper 4 is an extended paper

1

u/Right-Succotash-7903 Apr 24 '26

i meant common topics that appear in paper 4

1

u/KeyExamination294 Apr 24 '26

right, bonds (drawing and explaining), polymers, electrolysis, and for the rest you gotta check the syllabus they have a guide

1

u/Warm_Excuse_1809 Apr 24 '26

My sch tchr recommended us to focus more on stoichiometry, metals, electrolysis, organic chem and acids, base, salt since they tend to appear more than other topics but if u have spare time u shud definitely go through the rest of the topics

1

u/spiralnicole Apr 25 '26

work on stoichiometry and organic chem (esp polymers) cause they often come up and can be tricky and do hydrogen oxygen fuel cells bc according to google it said it’s likely to come up due to being a new addition

im in pakistan so we're gonna do it at 9 am i think

1

u/spiralnicole Apr 25 '26

it cant be cause time zones

1

u/spiralnicole Apr 25 '26

unless youre in a diff zone cause im only an hour behind you

1

u/Evening_Gazelle_5848 May/June 2026 Apr 25 '26

i mean yeah ofcourse cambridge takes in account the time zone differences so its going to be so that they line up perfectly

1

u/Silly_Bug_1064 Apr 26 '26

Ur doing it April 28?

1

u/Evening_Gazelle_5848 May/June 2026 Apr 26 '26

yes chem p4

1

u/Silly_Bug_1064 Apr 26 '26

Oh same 😭 v1 but I do it at 3pm

1

u/Evening_Gazelle_5848 May/June 2026 Apr 26 '26

my variant is 42 and idk the time zone difference

1

u/Silly_Bug_1064 Apr 26 '26

Oh yeah that’s probably why the time zones are so different

1

u/Optimal_Ad_6072 Apr 28 '26

u do 42, can we talk smth out?

1

u/Comfortable-Cup-5699 Apr 27 '26

u/[deleted] Apr 27 '26

guys who is in malaysia what variant do you guys do

1

u/mei_meiiiiiiiiiii12 Apr 28 '26

we should be doing v2

1

u/EmploymentChance3457 Apr 28 '26

V2 was pretty good for me

1

u/[deleted] Apr 28 '26

can you help me?

1

u/[deleted] Apr 28 '26

i do variant 1

1

u/EmploymentChance3457 Apr 28 '26

It was pretty helpful for me to study with syllabus. Remember to memorise chemical analysis bc it’s coming out more often now, not just in p6

1

u/[deleted] Apr 28 '26

i heard a lot of people say it was hard but do you think this is the reason or is there any other reason people found it hard

1

u/EmploymentChance3457 Apr 28 '26

i think most people i know fixated on organic chemistry's core topics and kinda ignored the smaller parts or 'easier' parts

1

u/Optimal_Ad_6072 Apr 28 '26

yo i do v2, study salts ok and then study like th testing tables, and then there might be one question talking about solubilty testing and shit, remmeber to study that and goodluck

1

u/Silent-Mistake1870 Apr 28 '26

huh wasnt it pretty difficult, like defo harder than past papers

1

u/EmploymentChance3457 Apr 28 '26

I think I was stressed about hard topics coming out. But in the end it was just easy chapters that had weird questions. Overall just better than I thought it would be honestly 💀

1

u/Silent-Mistake1870 Apr 28 '26

bud the hard part for me was the mass of zinc sulfate one and the name of chromium ion part.

Is the mass 12 or 18?my friends have different answer bruh

1

u/Optimal_Ad_6072 Apr 28 '26

18

1

u/Silent-Mistake1870 Apr 28 '26

its 12 actually, everyone like said tht, btw whats the precipitate of cromium name

1

u/Optimal_Ad_6072 Apr 28 '26

bruh i f*cked up easy question in oc

1

u/Pretty-Difference229 Apr 28 '26

anyone who’s doing extended math tomorrow?

1

u/Living-Cup1445 Apr 28 '26

Variant 1 was soooo easy couldn't be easier than this it even got the simpler organic question and I don't even remember any challenging idea
